35th Annual Beach to Bayou 5K Run/Walk

Helen Ellis Memorial Foundation is pleased to announce the 35th Annual Beach to Bayou 5K Run/Walk for its third year at the historic Sponge Docks. This great event for adults and children will benefit and support Florida Hospital North Pinellas in Tarpon Springs, Florida. The 5 kilometer race will start off just outside the Sponge Exchange off of Dodecanese Blvd. at 7:30am and will end back at the Sponge Exchange. This incredibly fast, flat course will take you through the scenic streets of Tarpon Springs, around the famous Spring Bayou where the Greek Orthodox Epiphany is held every January. As you run through the shaded streets of the City of Tarpon Springs, you will see many 1900 period homes and buildings. There will be plenty of refreshments, food, water and a fun family-friendly atmosphere after the race!

Advance Registration is strongly recommended for this event. Awards will follow immediately after the race at approximately 8:30am in the Sponge Exchange, where you will also find great food, water, and Beach to Bayou T-shirts!

Registration is open now. The general entry fee for the 5K is $20 per person (until June 5) and $25 on race day. All registered participants will receive an official 2014 Beach to Bayou T-shirt, runner/walker bib number with built-in timing chip, and refreshments at the end of the race. Awards will be given to the Top 3 in each age group (under 14, 15-19, 20-24… 80+) and Top 3 overall for male and female runners. All participants will receive 2014 Beach to Bayou Medallions!

Please bring canned goods to be donated to the Shepherd Center of Tarpon Springs.
