Join us for the 4th Annual Buddy Run 5K, 1 Mile Fun Run and Buddy Dash!

Chip-timed 5K or 1 Mile run in lots of shade through beautiful Lake Park on packed shell road and unpaved exercise path. The "Buddy Dash" will be held after the Fun Run for runners with special needs and their Buddies. The Buddy Run is put on by Congregation Beth Am and benefits....

Buddy Baseball is a non-competitive recreational league for boys and girls with special needs. Each player is paired with a “Buddy” to assist the player as needed. The league fosters friendships and breaks down barriers. Buddy Baseball is an opportunity like no other for children with special needs. Not only do the players experience the thrill of participating, they also get to experience team play and camaraderie.

Register by Oct 15 to guarantee a Sport-Tek shirt. First come, first served thereafter. Registration fee is based on total dollar amount at checkout.

Training Program

Our FREE 5K training program started on Sunday, September 7, 2014. 8:00 am to 9:00 am

Train to run the Buddy Run 5K with Personal Fitness Instructor Gary Richey. This FREE 8-week training program meets on Sunday mornings for 1 hour at the Bruce B. Downs entrance to Flatwoods Park in New Tampa. All ages and abilities welcome. Participants stretch and receive tips and training before beginning a gradual walk-to-run program that prepares participants to complete the Buddy Run 5K. Directions & Parking

The Buddy Run is held at Lake Park – 17302 N. Dale Mabry, Lutz, FL 33549

Lake Park is a 1/2 mile south of Van Dyke Road and about 2 1/2 miles north of Ehrlich Road/Bearss Ave. on N. Dale Mabry.

Once you get inside the park, follow the signs to parking area, which is right by the start/finish line and check-in area.

Hillsborough County charges a $2 park entery fee per vehicle.

  1. Category Exclusivity – No other like vendor will be accepted. *
  2. Inclusion in Press Releases – To the best of our ability, we will try to get your name out there in newspapers and other media serving the Tampa Bay community.
  3. Logo/Name on Print Material – Your logo or name will be printed on flyers, registration forms, etc. Subject to timing and space availability in some instances.
  4. Logo/Name on T-Shirt – Each runner and volunteer will receive a commemorative T-shirt. Your logo or name will be placed on the T-shirt.
  5. Free Event Entries – Free race entries will be awarded to sponsors. We can also assist in matching the free entries with needy runners.
  6. Facebook “likes” – The Buddy Run Facebook page will “like” your page to help broaden your social media reach. Please reciprocate!
  7. Goody Bag Opportunities – Each participant will receive a “goody bag”. This provides the opportunity for your business/organization to get specific promotional material directly to the consumer.
  8. Announcer Mentions – Our emcee, Russell Rhodes of Fox 13's Good Day Tampa Bay, will highlight your business/organization by mentioning and thanking your group on the day of the event.
  9. Booth Opportunities – You will have the opportunity to set up a booth at the event site and promote your business/organization. Selling of merchandise will require a one day vendor permit from the Hillsborough County Parks Department. Set up a booth and get 2 Buddy Run tech shirts!
  10. Course Signs – You will get a number of signs placed along the course route with your logo or name prominently displayed.
