The Monster Dash has something for everyone! This event is for both runners and non-runners alike as well as all your little ghosts and goblins. We will have a prize for best costume, so come in costume if you are feeling festive! The 5k, 10k and half marathon will all be officially chip timed while the kids 1k and 1 mile runs will have a clock, but are just meant to be fun. All registrants will get a goody bag, race shirt and post race food and all finishers will recive a medal (there will be different race shirts, bags and medals for the kids run).

The race start and finish area will be at the Cottonwood Group Area within Hellyer Park (a park map can be found here: http://www.sccgov.org/sites/parks/parkfinder/Documents/332560hellyer.pdf)
Parking:
You can park within the park for $6.00 (cash only, exact change preferred). There is some parking in the neighborhoods surrounding the park, stay tuned for possible other parking options.
Race morning packet Pickup:
If you were not able to pick up your packet at the pre race packet pickup times, there will be an opportunity to pick up on race morning between 6:30AM – 7:30AM.
On course aid:
There will be several aid stations on the course to support all distances.
Post race:
We have several vendors and sponsors who will be at the finish line

The start and finish are at the “Cottonwood Group Area” on the West side of the lake within Hellyer Park. You will possibly need to park ¼ to ½ mile from the start area, please plan accordingly.
Event Parking:
We encourage carpooling as much as possible for this event. There is a limited amount of parking inside Hellyer Park and vehicle entry into the park is $6 per car. Payment for parking can ONLY be made by cash. Please bring exact change if possible. There is also limited street parking in the neighborhoods surrounding Hellyer Park. Weather parking inside or outside of the park, please allow enough time to walk to the start area (Cottonwood Group Area).
Self- Seeding:
We ask that you “self seed” at the start of your race. We will have signs in the starting area specifying estimated pace times. Please line up behind the line that is closest to your approximate pace so that we can eliminate as much congestion as possible on the course.
Restrooms:
There are several park restrooms along the course (note – they may not always be port-o-potties, sometimes there are real bathrooms, keep an eye out for restrooms)

Kids runs will be loops around the Cottonwood lake at Hellyer Park (same area as the 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon start finish area).
Jogging Strollers:
Jogging strollers are permitted in this event. The entire race is on a paved surface, however, please be aware that much of the course is on a bike path and narrows significantly in some portions and may have some uneven sections. Please be aware of other runners attempting to pass. Also, for safety reasons, we ask that those of you who wish to bring jogging strollers start the race in the back of the pack.
Pets:
We love your animals, however, due to safety concerns (for runners and your pets), we ask that you do not run with animals.
Shoe Recycling:
Once again, we will be accepting your used running shoes for recycling.
Please be aware that there is no “sweats check”, so please plan accordingly.
