Band Sectional Competition!
This wouldn't be "Band on the Run" without a friendly little bit of competition amongst the band sections! Each runner will be assigned a section - either woodwinds, brass, percussion or Color Guard - and the section that has the collective fastest time will be awarded the title of "Legs of the Band" and will receive a traveling trophy to be displayed with all Montrose High School Band's awards and recognitions. Who will have the legs to win this unique award? If you have a student or friend in the band, you'll be able to pick their corresponding section. Those who have no preference will be assigned randomly.
Heart of The Band Award
An event of this magnitude cannot be done without the silent, hard work that is done by the volunteers. Volunteers cheer on our kids, play chauffer, chaperone, sounding board and idea generator. Band on the Run 5k cannot be done without the amazing work of the volunteers. To recognize their hard work and dedication, each volunteer will also be assigned a band section - woodwind, brass, percussion or Color Guard. Each volunteer will be given the opportunity to pick their section or have it assigned to them. The section with the largest volunteer base will be awarded the coveted "Heart of the Band" traveling trophy to be displayed with the Band's awards and recognition. Each volunteer will be listed on this award so their hard work can be perpetually recognized.

About The Boosters
MHS Band Boosters is a parent organization that provides support for the instrumental music program and Color Guard at Montrose High School in Colorado.
MHS Band Boosters is proud to provide vital support to the instrumental music program (including the marching, jazz, and symphonic bands) and Color Guard at Montrose High School in Montrose, Colorado. Because student activity fees and Individual Student Accounts (ISAs) can't possibly meet the sizeable expenses of a capable high school band program, the Band Boosters step in to help fill the gap. We assist with purchasing replacement instruments, providing meals at full-day events, funding Drum Major Camp, paying travel expenses and clinician fees, and supporting the program wherever a worthwhile need arises.
Refund Policy
To produce an event that is world class and effective as a fundraiser, Starunner Enterprises must coordinate our efforts and plan well in advance, making it difficult and costly to make changes after registration. Items are ordered months before the race and purchased according to the original information provided during registration. As a result, and similar to other races in the industry, Starunner Enterprises does not refund or transfer entry fees. In addition, certain release forms and emergency content are specific to the individual participant. Transferring such information would be a liability to the participant and the event. Due to annual changes, an entry fee into this year’s race does not transfer to next year’s event. This policy applies to individuals with injuries, unexpected business, family emergencies, etc. Additionally, the fee is nonrefundable if the event is canceled due to the threat of or acts of God, weather, war, terrorism, disaster, earthquake, government regulation and/or for economic/financial reasons. Starunner Enterprises does not offer refunds, exchanges, rollovers, deferrals or transfers. Exceptions to this policy may be made on a case-by-case basis based on extenuating circumstances but exceptions are not guaranteed.
