2014 Brighton Applefest Run

The 2014 Brighton YMCA Applefest Run is a 5K Run and a 1K Kids Fun Run that will start and finish at East Northumberland Secondary School (ENSS) in Brghton, Ontario. Whether this 5k is your first, or your 51st, we are confident you will find this race both challenging and fun. If you are looking for a flat and fast 5K... then this is not it!! The 5K course has something for everyone, with a bit of road, a bit of off-road, some uphill, some downhill, some great views, and a loop through Dunnett's Orchard! This year also marks the 40th Anniversary of Brighton's Applefest celebration (www.brightonapplefest.ca), and the town of Brighton has lots of fun to offer all weekend long!

New for 2014!! We've made some changes that we believe will make your Applefest Run experience even better! We have moved the event to Sunday so that you can enjoy all of the other Applefest events on Saturday and still come out to enjoy the Applefest Run! As well, we have decided to make the kids fun run more kid friendly this year by offering a FREE kids 1K fun run (for kids 12 and under)!

Our Mission: To provide a quality event for runners of all ages and abilities, that can also generate some awareness and support for the Brighton YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.

Our Vision: To carry on the tradition of the Applefest Run as part of the Applefest weekend celebrations while continuing to adapt and evolve, and inspire people to become part of the running community in Brighton, while helping to bring awareness and support to our local YMCA and it's programs.

Please Note:

Kids 1K Fun Run: will be limited to 100 participants

5K Run/Walk: will be limited to 150 participants (race day entry $30)
