Hannah Pote was an outstanding SHS student athlete who was tragically killed in a car accident on December 18, 1997. This race was established to honor Hannah's tremendous spirit and love of Starkville High School. The race is open to the public and offers a 5K race as well as a 1 mile fun run for children. Funds raised will directly support teacher and special school project grants within the Starkville School District.

Kids Fun Zone open during 5K race - Post race refreshments, drawings, and raffles
The first 50 kids to register for the 1 Mile Fun Run will receive coupons for a free Wendy’s Frosty!
All kids K - 5th grades in attendance will have a chance to receive MSU football game tickets FREE!

5K - Very flat, fast road course with traffic control
1 Mile Fun Run - Closed to traffic, safe, flat, out & back road course

Awards
1st, 2nd, 3rd place will be awarded in the following categories:

The overall male & female and overall male & female masters
will be awarded a trophy. The top three walkers will also be awarded.
All 1 Mile Fun Run finishers will receive a medal.
