My Story…
Today, Canada faces the challenge of an unprecedented growth in the number of people living with chronic kidney disease, partly due to an increased incidence of diabetes and cardiovascular disease, both important risk factors. An estimated 2 million Canadians have kidney disease or are at risk, and each day an average of 14 Canadians learn that their kidneys have failed. I am a clinical nurse research coordinator working at the Kidney Research Centre at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. I am doing the Alive to Strive 10K RUN to support all people living with kidney disease in the hope that we can one day find a cure through research and prevent kidney disease. I am running for YOU.
