2015 — 2015 Indianapolis Sharkfest Swim — Race Roster — Registration, Marketing, Fundraising

RACE DAY REGISTRATION will be available: Adult $60 (one race) $80 (two races), Youth (17 & Under) $20 (one race) $40 (two races).

The Indianapolis Sharkfest Swim will take place in the Indy Canal in downtown Indianapolis. There will be two distances in this point-to-point open water swim. The 1500 meter swim will start at Ohio Street Basin behind Fire Station #13 and the Indy501 (501 meters) will start at the Walnut St. Basin in front of the USS Indianapolis Memorial. Both distances will finish at the Admiral Spruance Basin. This spectacular swim is essentially like swimming a mile in a long picturesque pool, surrounded by sidewalks (great for spectators along the entire course), parklands and the city’s historic landmarks. Awards ceremony and post event festivities will take place at the Admiral Spruance Basin.

PLEASE NOTE: This swim is not for novices. This event is for experienced open-water swimmers only. You should be able to swim one mile comfortably in a pool in under 40 minutes.

Event Details

WATER TEMP: ~75-78° F (Wetsuits are not allowed).

COURSE CUT-OFF TIME: 40 minutes (1500 meters), 15 minutes (501 meters)

INCENTIVES: T-Shirts for all participants. Sharkfest Swim Medals for top three finishers in each age group. Personalized award plaques will also be mailed to the first place finishers in each age group. Special prize for the fastest combined time of male and female finishers who participate in both events.

AGE GROUP BREAKDOWN: Male and Female: 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-17, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94, 95-100!

ENTRANT LETTER: An entrant letter with all the race day details will be emailed to all registered participants and posted online here 1-2 weeks prior to event day. Please check back for any updates and the full race day itinerary.

GEAR BAGS: Your gear will be transported from the swim start to the race finish for you.

PARKING: There is plenty of street parking as well as parking lots near the swim starts and swim finish.

CANCELLATIONS: Registrations are non-refundable. If you can no longer participate in this event, you may receive a rollover credit (minus a $20 processing fee) toward a future event as long as you let us know by June 25 2015. After that date, a doctor's note is required to receive a credit.
