Asheville's Oldest Running Event -Presented by the Asheville Track Club

Two options for packet pick up and late registration-

  • Friday 10/16 from 4:00pm-6:00pm at Catawba Brewing- 32 Banks Ave.

  • Race morning 10/17 from 8:00am-10:00am at the Thomas Wolfe House - 52 N. Market Street Asheville.



The Thomas Wolfe 8K is Asheville's oldest and most prestigious running event. First run in 1976, the run will celebrate its 39th year in 2015! This beautiful autumn run/walk highlights many of Asheville's historic sites! Start at the Thomas Wolfe Memorial House and continue to run past his final resting place. Come on out and see why this race has become a deeply rooted Asheville tradition.

Packet Pick-Up

There will be two options for Packet Pick-Up this year:

10-16-15 from 4:00pm-6:00pm at Catawba Brewing (South Slope location) - 32 Banks Ave.

10-17-15 from 8:00am-10:00am at the Thomas Wolfe Memorial House - 52 N. Market Street in Asheville

Course Map

The Awards

Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female overall finishers, to the top male and female in the Masters Division (40+), and to the top male and female in the Grandmasters Division (50+).

Prizes will also be awarded to the top three finishers in each of the following age divisions: 13 and under; 14-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; and 70 and over.

The Awards Ceremony will take place at 11:30am.

Sprint prizes will be awarded from Jus' Running to the first male and female to the 1 Mile ($50), 3 Mile ($50) and Finish ($50).

Earlybird registration is now closed.


Online Registration:

  • Adult 8k online registration is July 1st-September 26th ($35).
  • Swag-free Adult 8k online registration is July 1st-October 14th ($30).
  • Youth 8k online registration is July 1st-September 26th ($25).
  • Swag-free Youth 8k online registration is July 1st-October 14th (also $25)

On-site Registration will be available on race day.
  • Adult 8k - $40
  • Swag-free Adult 8k - $35
  • Youth 8k - $30

Don't worry if you miss the t-shirt cut off for registration. You can purchase a TW8k shirt on-site from Asheville Screen Printing!

The race will be capped at 600 runners. No pets or strollers, please.

RACE DAY EXTRAS

Remember, each runner (over 21) will receive a ticket for a beer from Catawba Brewing or Sierra Nevada. There will also be post race snacks! Additionally, participants will receive a 15% off coupon from Mellow Mushroom that will be valid 10/17/15 - 10/23/15. As always, there will be live, musical entertainment throughout the duration of the event. We're looking forward to seeing you there!
