Tentative Maps for Race Day!
For your convienience you can view/download/print maps of the 1/4 Start Area, Parking for the 1/4 Start Area and Finish Area maps.
TENTATIVE ROUTE MAP AVAILABLE ONLINE
To view the route for this year's DQM events please CLICK HERE.
There are no significant changes to last year's route. If you plan on running the route in advance of race day, look for the green markings on the pavement for the KM markers. On race day signs will be placed along the route to measure each kilometre. The route is accurate to the metre using precision GPS technology.
BACK THIS YEAR - FINISHER MEDALS!
You have asked for them in the past and now you get them. This year, for the first time, the DQM will be awarding finisher medals to all participants who cross the finish line. Whether running, walking, crawling or crossing the line in a zombie like state...no matter how you cross, you will receive a distincitve finisher medal.
NEW MORE ACCURATE TIMING THIS YEAR
In the past the DQM has recorded the times for all participants as a 'gun time', that is, the time starts when the gun goes off whether you are in the front row or in the back. This year we will add a timing mat to the start line so that you will have the most accurate finish time possible. This only applies to the 1/4 Run event and 1/4 Walk events. The 1/8 Run and 1/8 Walk will still use the gun time.
AMAZING RACE KITS
At a time when many races are no longer handing out race kits, the DQM will deliver in style. Not only will we once again have our talked about race kits to the first 700 participants, this year's kit keeps getting better with more and more goodies being added as we get closer to race date. Register today to secure your race kit and technical shirt.

Canada's Original Durham Quarter Marathon
Canada's Original 1/4 and 1/8th Marathons are back again this year. We've added some new partners and some new details that we are sure that you will enjoy. Our favourite newest addition is our FINISHING MEDALS to celebrate our 10th Anniversary! What we haven't changed is the fact that by registering in the 2015 DQM events, you will be helping homeless youth to find a new and renewed hope for the future and the tools to get there!
The unique distance of the 1/4 Marathon (10.549km) and the 1/8 Marathon (5.27km) are not the only unique things about the event. The route follow the picturesque Oshawa Creek and Waterfront Trails providing some picturesque images and some beautiful vistas....one runner commented that it was so beautiful that she forgot that she was tired!!!
Pricing is the same as last year and again you can RUN FOR FREE but raising $150 or more from pledges and donations. Be sure to create a fundraising page on this site, ask your friends to sponsor you online and run for free!
This year as well, the event occurs on Christmas in July (July 25th... exactly 6 months away from Christmas) so we have invited Santa to come to the finish line with a big bag of gifts to hand out to random participants!
