The Western Trails PTA is hosting its SECOND annual community wide 5K and Fun Run on September 26th from 8:30AM to 1PM. With nearly 300 participants last year, we are back this year with even more fun and fit activities! So bring your family and friends and come out to either race in the 5K or walk/run in our fun run!
There will be pre-registration packet pick-up on Friday, September 25 from 3:30-5PM in the Western Trails Gym.
Day of registration and event check-in will begin at 8:30AM outside Western Trails School, with the 5K starting at 9AM. All 5K runners MUST at 9am.
Participants will receive a goody bag from athletic sponsors, a T-Shirt, and a running bib. The race will take you around Mitchell Lake and finishes at Western Trails School. The top 3 runners in each age category will receive placement medals.
Following the 5K, we have a Fun Run, which is a one (1) mile long course around south Mitchell Lake for walkers & runners. All participants in the Fun Run will receive a finisher medal, as the event will not be timed.
There will be concessions, raffles, fitness themed games for kids, an inflatable and much more!!
Only CASH can be accepted at the event.
**We strongly encourage people to pre-register by 9/15 to ensure they receive a t-shirt for the event. People registering after that date will not receive a t-shirt.
This event is the sole fundraiser for the Western Trails PTA; and will help raise money for educational supplies, field trips, assemblies and much more for the students at Western Trails. If you are unable to attend or would like to contribute to our schools PTA, please consider donating or pledging a student!

Registration Details
We encourage runners and walkers of all ages to register for the event on this site, or you can pay (cash only) in person on race day. You must register by 9/10 to receive a t-shirt and goody bag.
Paper registration forms are available for printing from the Western Trails Elementry School website http://www.edline.net/pages/Western_Trails_Elementary . Please be sure to fill out the correct information and submit payment via check or cash. Registration forms & payment may be mailed to Western Trails PTA, 860 Idaho, Carol Stream, IL 60188. Payment must be received by September 23rd.
If you choose to pay on race day, please note it will be CASH only and it will start at 8:30AM on 9/26. Race Day registration will be the same cost of $30 for the 5K and $20 for the Fun Run, but registration does not include an event t-shirt or finisher's medal.

Registration Packet Pick-Up
Race packets can be picked up on Friday, September 25th from 3:30 to 5:30 at the Western Trails PE, located at 860 Idaho Street in Carol Stream. You can also pick up your packets on the day of the race at 8:30 AM. The packet will provide you with your race shirt, bib and goody bag.
Pledges and Donations
We are holding this event to raise funds for The Western Trails PTA so it can continue to support the needs of Western Trails Students. The PTA provides funding for school field trips, assemblies, school supplies, Family Night Out, ice cream at Open House, student lunch for Field Day, supports groups within the school and Carol Stream community, and much more. Your particpation will directly support the PTA and each child that goes to Western Trails.

All students of Western Trails Elementary have already been registered on this site. However, they can only participate if they raise at least $20 in pledges or if they pay the $20 registration fee. For each dollar amount over $20 that a student raises, there will be additional prizes.
If you are interested in pledging a student, please select 'Pledge a Participant' on this website, select the student's name, and enter the amount you would like to pledge. Please note that students can also accept pledges from family and friends via cash and check in the weeks leading up to the race.
Raffle: Winners will be announced at noon on event day, Saturday, September 26th. Raffle winners do NOT need to be present to win.
If you can't participate and would like another way to help the students at Western Trails, you can make donations to our fundraiser on this site. Simply click on the yellow "DONATE" button above. The PTA is a non-for-profit organization and greatly appreciates every donation we receive.
