RACE TO EDUCATE STUDENTS WITH AUTISM

$25/1 Mile $35/5K

Friday 1-7p, Saturday 8:30a

Join us for our Annual 1 Mile FUN Run/Walk and 5K Race to support Spectrum Academy and the education of students with Autism Spectrum Disorders! The races are all-ages events that start and end at the school in North Salt Lake and follow scenic flat terrain along a paved nature trail. Winners take home a Thanksgiving turkey! We emphasize the ‘FUN’ in the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk by encouraging participants to race by whatever means of locomotion they choose: running, walking, biking, skating, scooting, etc. A prize will be given to the most creative contestant.

After the races, join us inside for our fabulous after-party, including refreshments, kids' activities, a raffle, and sponsor booths. Free t-shirt guaranteed at the event if registered by Wednesday, October 28th. Check out all the details at http://spectrumturkeytrot.weebly.com/

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

ASD is a neurodevelopmental disability that leads to challenges with communication, behavior and social interactions that can persist througout a person's life. Currently, 1 in 54 children in Utah are identified with an ASD, about 2% of the population.

About Spectrum Academy

Spectrum Academy is the only charter school in Utah to focus primarily on the unique learning needs of children with ASD. Through small class sizes, individualized instruction and an innovative social skills curriculum, we help students reach their fullest potential academically, socially and emotionally, so they may enjoy productive and successful futures. We educate ~900 students, K-12, from all across the Wasatch Front.
