We've been producing "underground" Beer Miles in San Francisco for over a decade. Our producers include one of the founders of the Beer Mile and the current world record holder. This is the first beer mile we're doing for the public. For many of you, it will be your first...and we wanted to make it a classic. At the end of the day, you can watch the Beer Mile of the Century, featuring the last 3 World Record Holders, including our own James Nielsen.
Though most of the money from entry fees will pay for our venue and insurance costs...all money above our operating costs will go to our charity partners. To find out if the Beer Mile is for you, check out the feature ESPN feature.
We will be announcing our schedule of events. As of now, doors to the festival will open at noon. The first public beer mile will go off at 2PM. We plan to run different heats every half hour. The night culminate with the International Men's and Women's Team Championships at 5:30 and 6:00 PM.
We'll have great food and music, but it's really a celebration of beer and running. Enjoy a great day on the Great Lawn.
