Team Meeting Location
We strongly suggest you set up your team meeting area in the South Bleachers of the Polo Fields. You can erect pop-up canopies above bleachers, fly your team flag, sit down and see a lot of the race. Finish from west end of bleachers is only about a hundred yards away, runners pass by to the south of the bleachers at the start, and run across the polo fields to the north on the basic race loops. Be good collegiate types and clean up afterwards!
Parking
Start and finish for Nov 22 are in very different places that the usual start/finish at Lindley Meadow. Since the course for this event and the Dec 12 National Club Championships are the same, just look at course maps which are on the National Championships on USATF.org, and while there, sign up for Nationals! Try to park as near as you can to the South Parking Lot, along Middle Drive West near the west end of the polo fields.
Note that Middle Drive West does not go through to 19th Avenue, but there is a good 700 yards East of where the South Tunnel is before the road is closed. See the course and parking map at the National site.
Mail-in registrations
Send to Homer Chan, Cross Country Registrar, 874 Filbert Street, San Francisco, CA 94133, pay to "SF Running", mail so that registration will arrive by November 18, 2015. Please, please don't be late, it really complicates registration.
Race Day Registrations
After Wednesday, November 18, mail-in and on-line restration are CLOSED, please simply pay event day by cash or check ("SF Running"). Race day fee is $35. Exact cash is greatly appreciated, rather than requiring change... Pick up registrations at the South Parking Lot of the Polo Fields.
Open Men's Race
PA Champs has only one Open Men's Race, but that race is split into two sections for Nationals. The "B" Men's Open race at Nationals is at 1:15 pm after the "A" section race. All Open Men run Regional/PA Association race in the one Open Men 10K at 12:30 pm. Run fast so you can get in the "A" section at Nationals. Top three teams at PAs/Regionals are assured of being in fast section for Nationals. See National site for other qualifications for Nationals races at National XC Reg site:
Note that Nov 22 racers are entered as they finish into "A" Section until the field limit of 400 is reached by Nov 25th. Real reason to run fast at PAs/West Regional, read all the conditions at webpage above.
Restrooms/Portapotties
Start:
Use either building rest rooms behind start in Hellman Hollow or portapotties. Please use Portables first.
Finish:
Portapotties are South of the bleachers through the South Tunnel at the West end of the bleachers, please use the portapots before using the existing building toilets, which are subject to flooding if used too heavily (that happened last time, not good). At this location you are about 200 yards East from the finish and 600 yards West from the start.
