On Saturday, May 28, 2016, take off for mental health! The Fredericton International Airport is once again opening its runway for a 5k race, and all proceeds go to the Canadian Mental Health Association of New Brunswick.
This isn’t just a race – bring your whole family to enjoy airside access, watch planes land and take off, and cheer you on as you race to the finish line! Activities for all ages will run from 10 am to 3pm, with the race starting at 1:15pm.
Two thirds of all people affected by mental illness don’t get help because of the stigmas associated with it. Look around you if you’re in a room with 5 people, chances are one of them has or will experience mental illness such as depression, anxiety, or other conditions that affect their emotions, thoughts and behaviours. That is almost 152,000 people in New Brunswick. Funds from the community are used to ensure our growth, to expand our reach and to continue delivering our programs and services to those in need throughout the province.
The YFC Runway Run is being organized by the Capital City Road Runners in conjunction with the Fredericton International Airport Authority in support of the Canadian Mental Health Association of New Brunswick.

Race info
Registration:
$30 on or before 31 December 2015 and $40 thereafter.
Only 325 runners will be allowed to participate, so register early and avoid disappointment!
To be guaranteed a personalised bib, you must register by May 1, 2016.
Participants registering after that date will not be guaranteed a personalized bib.
Wednesday, May 25, 2016 is the last day for registrations.
Due to security requirements no registrations can be accepted after this date; there will be no race-day registrations.
Minimum age to do the YFC Runway Run is 12 years.
This year you will receive a hat, not a shirt! So we don't need to know your size, because all hats are the same size.
Changes from last year:
- We're allowing transfers, so if you register and then your plans change and you can't make it, you can transfer your registration to a friend (see waiver for more details).
- New swag this year - all runners will get an awesome running hat! (plus your finisher’s medal)
- We've increased the number of runners just a bit, and will have 325 runners in 2016. We want to accommodate as many runners as we can without compromising our ability to pull off a top-notch event
Transferring an event:
If you are registered, but not able to run, you can choose to transfer your registration to someone else. If you were not in time to register, but would like to run, you could see if someone wants to transfer their registration. Please post on facebook whether you would like to transfer your registration or if you are looking for a registration.
We are NOT keeping track of who wants to transfer or wants to run! There is no waiting list!
If you want to transfer your registration, you will have to do that before April 30th!!
Race-kit pick-up:
Pick up your race-kit at the Pavillion. Race-kit pick-up will start at 10.00AM.
