The Splash Mash Dash Kids Triathlon is a non-timed race that is perfect for kiddos looking for a way to "TRI" the sport of Triathlon or tune-up their skills for a larger race. The race will offer kids a safe and fun environment for racing. All Splash Mash Dash Kids Triathlon participants will receive a t-shirt, finisher medal and Krispy Kreme donut!

This event typically sells out and will be capped at 175 mini triathletes this year.

Course Description

4-6 years

25 yard swim (1 length), .85 mile bike, .25 mile run

(will be allowed to use training wheels)

7-9 years

50 yard swim (2 lengths), 1.5 mile bike, .5 mile run

10-12 years

75 yard swim (3 lengths), 1.5 mile bike, .75 mile run

SWIM

Any style of swim is acceptable. Children can take a break during their swim if necessary. There will be lifeguards on duty and in the pool for assistance if required. Flotation devices are not allowed. Kids will be started in waves based on age from oldest to youngest. Parents are not allow on desk with their child due to limited space and safety of the children exiting the water. Parents are only allowed in the designated area on the pool deck which will be marked off with caution tape.

BIKE

The 4-6 year olds will complete 1 lap around the baseball fields behind Northridge. The 7-9 year olds and the 10-12 year olds will do two laps. LAPS ARE COUNTER CLOCKWISE. COURSE MAP

RUN

The 4-6 year olds will exit the transition area and will run to the sidewalk trail and up onto the grassy area above transition. They will complete one full loop and proceed to the finish line. The 7-9 year olds will complete 2 loops and the 10-12 year olds will complete 3 loops. LAPS ARE COUNTER CLOCKWISE. This course will be clearly marked and volunteers will be monitoring the course for safety. COURSE MAP

TRANSITION AREA

Only one parent per child will be allowed in the transition area.

Finisher Medals

The Splash Mash Dash Kids Triathlon will be an untimed event this year. However, we do have awesome finisher medals that look just like mom and dad's that they have collected over the years! We try to encourage every child to do their best and practice racing in a supportive environment so they will be ready for the real deal when they are older. We encourage parents to manually time their child if they are interested in a time for their race.

Race will start and finish at Northridge Recreation Center located at 8801 S. Broadway, Highlands Ranch, CO 80129.

Parking

All parking will be across the street from the Recreation Center at the churches. Look for "Race Parking" signs. Please allow extra time for parking.

Packet Pickup

*There will be no early packet pickup. All participants will pick up on race morning begining at 7:30am.

Race Day Packet Pickup

You will be able to pick up your race number and shirt beginning at 7:30 a.m. on race morning. There will be no race day registration - race is SOLD OUT!

Additional Race Details

Race fees do not include additional online processing fees and are non-refundable.

In order to guarantee choice of shirt size and save money on your registration, please register at least two weeks prior to the event. Shirt quantities are limited and sizes are not guaranteed to those who do not register in advance.

We race no matter what the weather brings.

All registered participants will receive a SMD Kids Triathlon - Athlete Guide via email prior to the event.

This valuable guide for parents that are new to racing Triathlon or new to our race.
