5K, 10K, 1-Mile Kid's Fun Run & 2-Mile Walk

One-hundred percent of all proceeds from the Pioneer Run will benefit NEEC’s fully inclusive early education and essential therapy services for children age’s birth to five who have special needs, as well as children who have typical needs in the Kansas City Northland area. The support NEEC receives from the Pioneer Run will ensure that all children, whether typically developing or with special needs, are fully prepared to enter kindergarten giving them the opportunity to reach their full potential with a foundation for future learning and success.
Packet pick-up is Friday, June 10 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at The Running Well Store, located at 6106 Barry Board (Boardwalk Square by Hobby Lobby) in Kansas City, Mo.
Participants may register and/or pick up their packets on race day by the West Shelter in English Landing Park in Parkville, MO from 7:30-7:55 AM. The registration fee does increase on race day to $40 for the 10K and $35 for the 5K/2-Mile Walk.
Course will utilize both English Landing Park and the new Platte Landing Park. The race course is fast and flat along the beautiful Missouri River. There will be aid stations on the course providing water.
T-Shirt Sizes are guaranteed to all participants who Register by May 30th.

Prizes will be awarded to the team with the most participants and the overall male and female first, second and third place winners in the 5K and the 10K run. Overall first, second and third place winners in the children’s age group 13 and younger in the 5K and 10K events, will also be awarded. Participation ribbons will also be given to those participating in the 1-mile kid’s fun run.
Northland Early Education Center (NEEC) provides early education and therapy services for children who have special needs and early education for children who have typical needs age’s birth to five. NEEC also provides a before and after school/summer program for children ages 6 to 14 who have special needs. NEEC’s eight early education classrooms are staffed by dedicated childcare professionals, including a lead teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in special education, early childhood education or a related field. All lead teachers prepare weekly lesson plans that fully utilize and incorporate the principles of the Project Construct curriculum framework.
In addition to high quality, fully-inclusive early education, NEEC offers therapy services for children with special needs who qualify. NEEC’s therapy department consists of four therapists specializing in physical and occupational therapies, speech and language pathology and special instruction.

You may pre-register for Raffle Tickets with your registration this year. One ticket for $1, six tickets for $5 and 15 tickets for $10. You DO NOT have to be present to win a raffle item this year. Raffle items will include, restaurant and theme park gift certificates, gym memberships, and much more.
