RACE KIT PICK UP
At a time when many races are no longer handing out race kits, the DQM will deliver in style. DQM race kits and technical shirts are a favourite amongst race participants.The first 700 participants to race kit pick up are guaranteed a race kit.

Race Day Registration
Race day registration & race kit pick up is available at the 1/4 Start Area ONLY located at Oshawa City Hall (while quantities last). You CANNOT register or pick up race kits at the 1/8 Start Area located at Lakeview Park. If you plan to register or pick up your race bib and kit (while quantities last) on race day, please arrive at 7:30 am at Oshawa City Hall. You will have time to drive to the 1/8 Start (9:00 am) or take the shuttle if you are registered for the 1/8 event.

Maps for Race Day
For your convienience you can view/download/print maps of the 1/4 Start Area, Parking for the 1/4 Start Area and Finish Area maps.
Please park at your event start area and take the shuttle back to your car.
There are no significant changes to last year's route. If you plan on running the route in advance of race day, look for the blue markings on the pavement for the KM markers. On race day signs will be placed along the route to measure each kilometre. The route is accurate to the metre using precision GPS technology.
ACCURATE TIMING
A timing mat will be placed at the start line so that you will have the most accurate finish time possible.
About the Durham Quarter Marathon
The 11th Annual Popeye’s ® Durham Quarter Marathon presented by Progressive Nutritional Therapies is Canada's original 1/4 and 1/8 marathon event. Choose to run or walk both the 1/4 (10.549 km) and 1/8 (5.27 km) events boasting a unique “out-only”, net downhill route along the scenic creeks and waterfront vistas. The exciting finish area celebration will be held once again at Lakefront Park West.
The #runforothers means that 100% of funds raised at the DQM go directly to help homeless and street youth at The Refuge. You will be helping youth from the Durham Region to find a renewed hope for the future and the tools to reach their full potential!
Race fees are the same as last year and you can RUN FOR FREE by fundraising $150, see the instructions below about how to register as a fundraiser.

Technical Shirts
You will find the size you ordered inside your race kit. We do our very best to make sure you get the size you ordered. We cannot exchange the shirt size you requeste for another size. You are welcome to contact the DQM after race day and we will gladly exchange your size if we have shirts left over. Thanks for understanding.

Please do not park at Canlan Ice Sports Oshawa. Lakefront West parking lot is reserved for those requiring accessible parking, emergency access and race crew vehicles ONLY, no exceptions.
The DQM highly recommends parking at your start area and taking the shuttle back to your car. Please make sure you arrive at your start area at least 15 minutes before start time.
Pace Bunnies
Ajax Running Free provides a team of pace bunnies to help you reach your personal best at The Durham Quarter Marathon. Pace bunnies hold a sign with various 1/4 marathon (10.549 km) times. Line up at the finish line with the pace bunny who holds the sign with your time. If you are doing well during your race, try to catch up to the next bunny!
Bag Check
BAG CHECK & DELIVERY TO THE FINISH LINE
There is a bag check service included in your registration package. You may leave your bag with our trustworthy volunteers at your start area and pick up your bag at the finish line area. Your race bib includes an offical tag that matches your bib number registered on your name. Simply show affix the tear off tag on your bib to your bag at the start and show your bib at pick up.

Did you know that $150 will purchase 38 meals for one hungry youth at The Refuge?
It could provide 10 art classes to a hurting young person.
Or it could purchase 93 showers for someone who feels worthless.
You will provide kindness and hope for a better future for a street youth here in Oshawa when you raise pledges for The Durham Quarter Marathon.

WALKERS
OFFICIAL TIMED WALK EVENTS
You can choose to walk both the quarter marathon and eighth marathon events. Your start time will be approximately 5 minutes after the run events. Please line up after the runners if you are walking the event and WAIT FOR THE 2nd START GUN!

Race Policies
Definitions:
Race events include the quarter run, quarter walk, eighth run, and eighth walk.
Participants include walkers and runners in both the quarter and eighth events.
Strollers
Strollers are permitted on both the quarter and eighth race courses. Participants with strollers must begin the race behind the group of participants in the respective race event as described above.
Dogs
Participants are permitted to participate with leashed dogs on both the quarter and eighth race courses. Dogs must be on a leash. Those running or walking with dogs must begin the race behind ALL participants in the respective race events as described above.
Participants who would like to bring their dogs should consider the potentially high-stress environment that a large group of people gathered in the start line area may create for a dog. We ask that out of respect for others, please maintain a comfortable distance from congested areas and individuals. Please do not run with a dog in the kids fun run event.
Accessibility
The race course is fully accessible. Wheelchairs and other aiding devices are welcomed in all race events.
For participants with wheelchairs or other aiding devices, please consider the level of competition and position yourself in the start line group accordingly. We ask that more leisurely participants please lineup at the start line behind runners.
There are accessible parking spaces available to those who require such services.
The Durham Region Transit bus is accessible.
Cancellation
The race will occur in all types of weather, including rain. There will be no weather cancellation barring extreme weather types such as thunderstorms or natural disasters.
Refunds and Transfers
There are no refunds or transfers of registration fees. We are sorry for any inconvenience.
