This October Chimo Helpline is celebrating 45 years of continuous service!
Chimo is the provincial helpline for New Brunswick, serving a population of 750,000 people. We respond to a wide range of calls relating to mental health, loneliness and suicide. We help callers by providing active listening, information, crisis intervention and by directing them to local resources in their area. We offer free, confidential and bilingual services, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
We are working hard to develop better mental health awareness in the public and to reduce stigma around suicide through speaking engagements and by building strong community alliances.
