About This Activity

Join International District's 1st Annual 2k walk and 5k run "For the Future" to raise money for the children from low income family within Alief School District and supporting their school violence prevention/education efforts on campus. Bring your family to join our Mother's Day event and celebrate the special women in your life. Come for the fun and ready to be photographed. We will email you the photograph with free of charge. Give mom the gift of family this Mother's Day at the Alief Amity Park. Enjoy live, FREE entertainment during the entire event, includes live band music, professional dance performance, and lots of fun games. Games includes goldfish scooping, ring tossing and more. Game tickets are sold separately. Everyone is invited to join our after race BBQ party. All the race participants will get one free meal with ticket provided for thanking their donation and participation. Be sure to stick around afterwards for food, pictures, games and music.

Participants can choose to walk 2k or walk and run 5k. Onsite race registration and packet pick-up will be on the event day Sunday, May 8th from 2:30pm-3:30pm in the Alief Amity Park. After online registration closes on May 7th midnight, the registration fee will increase extra $5.00 for onsite registration. Please sign up today to reserve your free T-shirt on the event day.

All proceeds raised through registration fees will benefit the Alief School District and local YMCA and help to fund our future programs such as raise money for Texas Children Hospital, and raise awareness of diabetes in our community.

Pricing:

2k walk - $20.00 (includes free T-shirt and BBQ ticket)

5k run - $25.00 (includes free T-shirt, Medal and BBQ ticket)

* Additional T-shirts are available for purchase for $15.00 on the event day. Food, drink, and game tickets are sold separately.

Registration includes:

• Custom event T-shirt
• Participant race bib/number, clip will be provided
• Medals will be given to the 5k running finishers
• Free health advises
• FUN!

Event day:

• Enjoy music and other activities before the start of the walk and run.
• Meet some new friends and our sponsors.
• Pre-race warm up with our pro-runners.

2:30PM Packet pick up

2:45PM Onsite registration opens

3:30PM Close registration

3:45PM warm up

4:00PM 5k run starts

4:15PM 2k walk starts

Important Details:

• All participants required to sign waiver at the check-in desk.
• Course will close at 6:00PM and participants will not be allowed to leave starts line after 4:30PM.
• We run rain or shine! Please dress appropriately for the weather.
• Jogging strollers are allows but must be towards the rear of the group.
• Doggies are welcome on leash and you must clean up after your pet.
