Come out and join us in the last race of the running season! Run the River is a community event sponsored by Ryan’s Pharmacy and Liv9 Nutrition in support of the Nackawic Bend Ski Club’s Skis in Schools initiative. Race central is held at the Nackawic Shopping Mall, overlooking the majestic Saint John River and the World’s Largest Axe. Distances are 3K/5K walk/run, 10K run, and a 1K Kids Fun Run.
Prize money is up for grabs for the Top 3 finishers, male and female; 1st place - $75, 2nd - $50, 3rd - $25, for the 5K and 10K. For the 3K: 1st - $25, 2nd - $15, 3rd - $10. These awards will be presented around 10:45am.
For the second year running, you can register for our Run the River TEAM CHALLENGE! Although we are still focusing our fundraising efforts on our Skis in Schools initiative, you now have the chance to win $100 towards a non-profit organization of your team’s choice, by registering as a TEAM. For team registration, one person must take the lead as the “Team Creator” and register a team name and password during the registration process. After the team is created, all other members will be able to join when they register by entering and selecting that chosen team name and password. Race Day Information
All finishers will be awarded a wonderul custom made medal, a RTR water bottle, and will be entered into a draw for a great number of prizes to be held to conclude the event. You will need to be there to collect your prize. Prize money will be awarded to the top three female and male finishers in each of the events (3K/5K/10K).
Race route: located mainly along the Saint John River, on paved roads, with a few rolling hills and beautiful fall landscape scenery. A map is available on our Facebook page, in the notes section. (www.facebook.com/runtheriverNackawic/info)
Distances: the 3/5/10K distances are wheel-measured to ensure accuracy. The following age restrictions apply; 3K-aged 6 and older, 5K-aged 8 and older, 10K-aged 12 and older.
Water: water stations will be located along the race route.
Race kit pick-up: we strongly encourage participants to arrive early to avoid line-ups. Warm up space will be available on site, as well as showers/changing rooms. Please note that ALL registrations will take place on-line prior to race day; NO same day registrations.
No registration fee refunds are available. You may change the distance in which you are taking part, by contacting us.
