My Story…
Our lives were turned upside down in 2008 when our daughter Lauren was diagnosed with a rare form of eye cancer at 6 months old. Now an energetic and vibrant 8 year old living life to its fullest we are forever graitful to the Retinoblastoma team of doctors and nurses at Sick Kids hospital. As parents and a family unit we wouldn't be where and who we are today without the support of family friends and incredible support groups like Candlelighters Simcoe. In the darkest of moments on the darkest of days they were there filling our hearts with hope and offering the strength we needed to help our baby get through her treatments so that she could move past her diagnosis and focus on being a child. We are walking to raise awareness of childhood cancer and to say thank you to those that give their time and hearts to help other families fighting this great battle. For all the little superheroes...you are the true meaning of BRAVE.
