VOLUNTEER - Summerfest Rock 'n Sole

Volunteers must be at least 12 years of age to participate and those under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult (21 years of age or older).

Summerfest Rock 'n Sole Volunteers will receive the following:

• Official 2017 Summerfest Rock `n Sole Run Volunteer T-shirt

• One 2017 Summerfest General Admission ticket; valid any day of Summerfest

  • Note: Positions with an * before them receive (2) Summerfest General Admission tickets

Be a part of the anticipation and excitement before the big race! Packet pick up takes place at the Summerfest Rock `n Sole Run Health & Fitness Expo at the Italian Community Center. Athletes will pick up event information, race bib numbers and merchandise. Assist us by distributing t-shirts and race information, greeting runners or providing directional assistance throughout the exhibit hall

Water Station Set up - Various locations along the course

Saturday, June 10: 5:00 am - 11:00 am

If you have a group of 25 or more and are interested in staffing and managing one of our 10 Water Stations, please contact Kat Hawkins at KatKesyHawkins@icloud.com. This is an important component to keeping participants safe and hydrated. Your team will setup, execute and teardown a specific water station along the route. Full details and training will be provided to each of our 10 water station teams. This role involves physical activity and lots of enthusiasm.

Saturday, June 10: 6:00 am - 11:00 am

Help direct participants along the route and be there to support them and cheer them on. Details will be provided at orientation and as volunteers are dropped off at their specific location.

*Start & Finish Line - Located at Henry Maier Festival Park

Saturday, June 10: 5:30 - 11:00 am

Help prepare the starting line for all participants before helping them get placed in their proper starting corral. Then, be the first to greet runners as they cross the finish line! You will be assigned to assist runners in any of the following areas:

• Medals - Reward the thousands of participants by giving them their hard earned medal.
• Food & Beverage Distribution: Distribute post-race snacks to runners.
• Finish Line Assistants

• Gear Check - Help runner's pick up their gear after the race.
• Results Tent - Provide racers their unofficial results, and then post official results when they become available. Also, help manage foot traffic within the results tent to keep the lines moving.
• Information Tent - Help runners’ friends or family track their progress along the run and answer questions regarding the event and Post-Party.

Kids Run to Read - Located at Henry Maier Festival Park

Saturday, June 10: 9:00 - 11:00 am

Assist our youngest runners as they line up with their age groups, make their way along their 1 mile race course and are reunited with their parents.
