The 2nd annual Harvey Community Days Triathlon will be held in the Village of Harvey, located about 35 minutes outside of Fredericton on Route 3. The event, part of the 71st annual Harvey Community Days, will prove to be fun yet challenging. The swim will take place in beautiful Harvey Lake followed by the bike going out the Lake George road and back and it will be capped off with a run over the rolling hills around the Village.
There will be something for everyone -- a Standard distance event (Olympic), relay teams, a sprint, a duathlon, and a “Tri a Tri” for newbies and youth! There will be awards for overall placement with $50 cash prize for fastest swim, bike and run in the Standard (Olympic) distance. Door prizes will also be drawn for the day of the event.
Have a budding triathlete at home? Check out the event for kids being hosted by the community Saturday afternoon following the Community Days carnival.
T-shirts will be guranteed if registered before July 31st.
A number of early bird discounts are being offered, so make sure you take advantage of them.
The distances are:
Olympic: 1500 meter swim, 40 kilometer bike, 10 kilometer run (same for relay)
Sprint: 750 meter swim, 20 kilometer bike, 5 kilometer run (same for relay)
Duathlon: 5 kilometer run, 20 kilometer bike, 3 kilometer run
Aquabike: 750 meter swim, 20 kilometer bike
Tri a Tri and Juniors: 300 meter swim, 10 kilometer bike, 3 kilometer run
There will be NO race day registration! Online registration closes Saturday, August 12 at 3PM.
