The Westshore Triathlon & Duathlon is the first race in the series an on the island. It features Sprint, Sprint Relay, Super Sprint, Duathlon and Kids of Steel distance events.
We bring together avid triathles with those just beginning their journey in a supportive atmosphere that celebrates healthy and active lifestyles, so there is something for everyone.
The race begins with a continuous pool swim with athletes exiting the pool into transition to their bikes in a spacious, flat, easy to navigate area. The scenic bike route on Ocean Boulevard heads to the picturesque Esquimalt Lagoon. The Sprint distance is two loops, the Super Sprint and KOS are out and back courses. The final leg features a run on the well groomed trail surrounding West Shore Parks and Recreation Centre before entering the finishing chute and crossing the finish line in front of the cheering spectators and family.
The event is unique in that it offers a closed course allowing participants to not worry about traffic on the course.
