Our Half Marathon is a point-to-point course. Runners will be bused to their start line at The Summit Resort or dropped off and shuttled to The Summit Resort and finish at Rockin' R in Gruene (along with the 5K runners). Half Marathoners run alongside the beautiful Guadalupe River surrounded by lush green trees, rolling hills, and picturesque cliffs...making this the PRETTIEST RACE IN TEXAS!
5K runners start and finish at Rockin' R in Gruene. This out-and-back course offers a start line view of the beautiful Guadalupe River and travels through a peaceful community with winding streets and rolling hills. We also host a Kids Fun Run (1/8 mile) for ages 12 and under. This is truly a full family-racing event!

For ages 3-11, the Chosen Kids Fun Run is a 1/3 mile loop on the finish line grounds (not timed). We want to give our younger runners the ability to run for someone else’s victory, too!

Half marathoners have the option to select being bused from Rockin' R in Gruene to the start line at The Summit or runners can choose not to take the bus from Rockin’ R and make their own transportation arrangements for drop off at the Rio Guadalupe Resort. Then Rio Guadalupe dropped-off runners will take a short 1-mile shuttle ride to The Summit. The Rockin’ R bused runners will start loading the buses at 6:30am buses will leave as they are filled. There are NO ASSIGNED BUSES, TIMES OR GROUPS. Please arrive early to allow time for parking and loading the buses. Buses will leave as they are filled, to help stagger departure congestion. Online race registration ends on 11/14, however, paper registrations will be taken at packet pickup locations ($120).

Important Half Marathon Information

Half Marathon Runner Packet Pickup -
Austin: Thursday, November 16th, 12pm-7:00pm @ Rogue Running (Downtown 512-373-8704)
San Antonio: Thursday, November 16th, 10am-7pm @ iRun Texas (Bitters 210-479-7200)
New Braunfels: Friday, November 17th, 10am-8pm @ U Run (Marketplace 830-626-8786)
Half Marathon Mailer Packet Option ($25): If you are unable to pick up your packet at an above location, you can choose the mailer packet option. For $25, your packet will be mailed to you the week before the race. Please make sure you add this option to your registration at check out.
All mailer options must be selected by October 22nd.
NOTE: If you don't choose the mailer option at registration but are later unable to pick up your packet in person during regular packet pickup location hours, you can make arrangements for someone else to pick up your race packet. That person is required to present YOUR confirmation email (can be printed or on a mobile device) along with THEIR photo identification to a race support staff member at the packet pickup area.
THERE WILL BE NO RACE DAY PACKET PICKUP FOR HALF MARATHON RUNNERS.
5K Runner Packet Pickup -
5K runners can select one of the above packet pickup locations or pick their packet up on race day. Choose "New Braunfels" as your packet pickup location and your 5K packet will be waiting for you on race day morning (6:30-7:30am).
Kids Fun Run will check in on race day (9:30-10:15am). No packets are distributed for Kids Fun Run.
Virtual Runners
Do you want to run the Chosen Half Marathon but don’t have the time and/or money to travel? We have a solution for you! You can now run the race, VIRTUALLY!
How does it work? We are so glad you asked! It’s easy as 1-2-3…
1) Sign up for our Half Marathon race as a virtual runner. There is a $25 shipping fee that will be added at checkout to cover the costs of packaging and mailing your swag to you.
2) Log your miles between November 1st and November 18th, 2017.
3) Email a photo of your results to results@chosen.care (this can be a photo of your GPS watch/FitBit/app readout).
As a Chosen virtual runner, after the race on the November 18, 2017, you will receive by mail:
- A personalized race bib
- Official 13.1 finisher medal
- An AWESOME Chosen tech shirt that is sure to be the envy of all your friends
- The satisfaction of helping bring a child home to their forever family!
NOTES: 5K races are not eligible to be virtual runners at this time. When logging miles, they must be captured at one time (consecutively), as if you were running/walking the event on race day. Virtual runners will receive all items within 2-3 weeks after submission.
