The Inn Out of the Cold

This year, we will help to provide a safe place to sleep for everyone in our community.  All of the funds raised through registrations pledges and corporate donations will be donated to the INN OUT OF THE COLD as well as other local charities serving the homeless or disadvantaged.  

The Inn is our local homeless program operating out of Central United Church.  The Inn is available to anyone in the County of Elgin who needs a warm, safe place to sleep.  Guests will receive a warm meal, use of a shower and breakfast in the morning before heading out.  

$15 per day helps to support each of the individuals using the services of the Inn.  Each year, the Inn served more than 100 different individuals ranging in age from 16 through to the elderly.

Our first 5 Shamrock Shuffle events have been a huge success with an average 250 Participants each year and more than $5000 given directly to The Inn Out of the Cold.  Those funds purchased a large commercial refrigerator to store food donations, two beds for persons with ambulatory issues, a washer and dryer plus installation of the same, laptops for job and housing searches plus more.  In 2016, $11,000 was donated to the Inn and used to help start the Hospitality Centre located on Talbot Street, operating all year. But, the need doesn't stop there.
