RACE TO THE TAPS 2017
~ Four 5-milers ~
The first race in Mix 96.5's Race to the Taps Running Series is Saturday, March 18th at Bold Rock Cidery in Mills River, NC. Don't miss this chip timed 5-miler in the gorgeous hills near the Henderson County cidery. Runners & walkers welcome but pets and strollers are not allowed. All runners 21+ with valid ID can toast his/her achievement at the end with a crisp Bold Rock Hard Cider included in the race registration.

Sign up 6 of your friends and family to create a 6-pack of running buddies and save $30 on registration ($5 per runner) PLUS each runner on the team gets a Race to the Taps sweater koozie at packet pickup. The best "green team" at the Bold Rock race will also win a special Race to the Taps award! Simply select your race entry (shirt or no shirt) then follow the prompts to create or add to a team)
The Race to the Taps 5-miler at Bold Rock is part of a four race running series over the course of 2017. All races in the Race to the Taps Running Series are 5-mile courses unique to each brewery and include an event on April 29th at New Belgium Brewing, September 30th at Oskar Blues Brewery and the final race on October 28th at the Wedge Brewing Company at the Foundation. Awards
AGE GROUP AWARDS
In keeping with the theme of the series, pint glasses from the brewery host, will be awarded to the top 3 male & female finishers in each age category. Age group awards are decided as the top 3 finishers in each of the following age divisions: 13 and under; 14-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; and 70+.
No double dipping on awards. All timed awards are based on GUN TIME. Chip timing is for your information only.
SPIRIT AWARDS
In addition to the timed awards, we will also award a “King & Queen of the Taps” at each race for the “most spirit”based on attire and enthusiasm and the M.O.P (Middle of the Pack) award for the runner with the middle time of all runners.
TOP 10 AWARDS
The TOP 10 awards at each Race to the Taps (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and overall Male & Female, plus Top Masters and Grandmasters Male & Female) receive a custom Race to the Taps wooden 6-pack carrier created just for us from Southside Woodworks.

The mission of Junior Achievement is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy by empowering them to own their economic success. Nearly a century old, Junior Achievement is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs. In the 2016-17 school year, Junior Achievement volunteers will work with over 3,200 students grades K-12 in Buncombe, Henderson, Madison, and Transylvania counties!
