Race Day Summary
Race will be a 5k TEAM race on the Cross Country course at Mercer County Park, West Windsor New Jersey. Race will be Rain, Snow, or Shine! It is possible that muddy and/or snowy conditions may exist. The race will still go on! CASH prizes will be awarded to the finishers. ALL successful finishers will receive a prize.
The race is going to start at the same day and time (First Saturday of March at 1 PM) that the Real Alaskan Iditarod will also begin. We will be running the New Jersey Version of the real Iditarod!
Location
Please park at the West Picnic Area of Mercer County Park. Location: Mercer County Park, West Windsor NJ.
Teams
This is a team race! Teams of between 2 and 7 runners are permitted to enter the race. This is not an individual race. Dogs and/or people count as a team member. If dogs are entered, owners are responsible for maintaining control of their dogs at all times.
Each team will be given a rope with their team number on it. The team will be responsible for starting and ending with the same runners holding the rope. Switching runners or dropping runners from the team during the race is not permitted. The same runners who start the race must also end the race to be eligible for price money. Example teams include:

One person and one dog (All dogs must be on a leash at all times to compete in the race. At least one person must be on a team with their dogs).
Start
Teams will be started in groups and released from the starting line in the following age groups and at the following time intervals:
Under age 5:1:00 PM
Under age 9, or Over age 70: 1:03 PM
Under age 14, or Over age 5: 1:06 PM
Under age 18, or Over age 40: 1:08 PM
All other ages 1:10 PM
Prizes
ALL entry fees will be distributed as Prize Money for the Top Teams.
All finishing teams will receive $10 if all members of the team successfully complete the course.
1st Place - 20% of the purse
2nd Place - 15% of the purse
3rd Place - 10% of the purse
4th - 10th Place - 5% of the purse
11th - 20th Place-2% of the purse
All other successful team finishers - $10
Course
The race will be located on the paved bike trail in an "out and back" course. Race will start at the West Picnic Area and proceed along the paved bike trail to the East Picnic Area. The teams will turn at the East Picnic Area and proceed back down the bike trail to the West Picnic area. Total course length will be 3.1 miles (5 km).

Please Note: Registration is $30 per team, not per individual. When registering, please enter your team as one individual. The waver will apply to all members of your team. Only one t-shirt per team will be provided with the entry fee. Additional t-shirts can be purchased at the race site.
