This is a special event. Run entirely on the runway of The Region of Waterloo International Airport, this year's new start time (8:30pm on a Friday) means you're running under the big runway lights! Warm up on the taxiway, run a loop of the tarmac - it's an incredible experience.

Flying from Waterloo Region has never been easier. Daily, non-stop scheduled service to Calgary with WestJet, and Chicago with American Airlines with connections to over 250 destinations in 40 countries. Weekly seasonal service December through March to Orlando with WestJet and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic with Sunwing.

The Region of Waterloo International Airport actively contributes to the communities in which we live and work. We support and participate in many local events and also encourage our employees to get involved by volunteering.

Registration Options

REGISTRATION POLICY: All entries are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-deferrable. There are no exceptions once a person has registered.

PRE-REGISTRATION DEADLINES

Mail in: To 2 Weberlyn Crescent, Conestogo N0B 1N0 by Tuesday August 22 at 5:00 p.m.

Drop off: At Runners’ Choice, 55 Erb St E, Waterloo by Tuesday August 22 at 5:00 p.m.

Online: Right here at www.RaceRoster.com by Wednesday August 23 at 6:00 p.m.

After these dates, entries will only be accepted on Race Day at The Region of Waterloo International Airport, Operations Centre, New Germany Lane, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

RACE DAY - KIT PICKUP and REGISTRATION

Will take place at The Region of Waterloo International Airport, Operations Centre, New Germany Lane, from 7:00 p.m. - 8:15 p.m. There is no parking at the Operations Centre. Please see 'Race Start Location and Parking' details below.

The following Race Day activities will all take place at The Region of Waterloo International Airport, Operations Centre, New Germany Lane.

There is NO parking at the Operations Centre, and NO participant or spectator drop offs will be permitted at the Operations Centre.

THERE IS NO PARKING PERMITTED ON NEW GERMANY LANE, COBER ROAD OR LONSDALE ROAD. THESE ARE EMERGENCY ACCESS ROUTES AND MUST REMAIN CLEAR AT ALL TIMES.

Parking for this event is located at the Air Terminal Building, off Fountain Street North. The Parking Fee is a flat $4.50 per vehicle for the day.

The only transportation to the Operations Centre is through the provided shuttle buses.

Shuttle buses will transport participants and spectators from the Air Terminal Building to the Operations Centre from 6:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.

Shuttle buses will transport participants and spectators back to the Air Terminal Building starting at 9:30 p.m.

Course Details

This flat and fast event will be run entirely on the runway of The Region of Waterloo International Airport in Breslau.

The 2 Mile course is one loop of the runway.

Results will indicate your 1 Mile split time.

Time Limit:

All participants must be off the runway by 9:20 p.m. with no discretion. We value the support of The Region of Waterloo International Airport, and trust you understand our position.

Runway Restrictions:

For safety reasons, the following will not be permitted on the runway:

headphones or personal music devices
bicycles
skateboards
roller blades
animals
food or any disposable items such as gels, cups, bottles, etc.

Strollers are permitted.

Awards (for Race participants only, not Fun Run/Walk participants)

Awards in the 2 Mile Race are performance based.

MALES

Gold Pin - under 11:30 minutes

Silver Pin - under 13:30 minutes

Bronze Pin - 13:30 minutes and over

FEMALES

Gold Pin - under 12:30 minutes

Silver Pin - under 14:30 minutes

Bronze Pin - 14:30 minutes and over
