These races take place starting at the Douglas County East/West trailhead at Rocky Heights Middle School and runs along the E/W trail to the beautiful HRCA Backcountry Wilderness Area, Wildcat Mountain trail system. Offering runners spectacular views along the way, the highlight of this run is the Wildcat Mountain Trail section on the 10 mile course which takes runners to a beautiful bluff overlooking the entire Front Range! The 2017 Wildcat Trail Races are proudly presented by Brain Balance of Highlands Ranch!
10m and 10k begin at 7am
Youth Race begins at 8:30am.

First time trail runner? This course is a perfect distance to try out trail running. Looking to prepare yourself for the November 5 Backcountry Wilderness Half Marathon? This race will get you prepared for the trails!
New this year- Kids Trail Races! Our goal is to create a safe and fun environment for all to enjoy trail running, and this is the perfect way to introduce your little one to trail running. Only $5 for all kids and every kid gets a finisher medal! (0-12 years old, no shirt included)
In an effort to reduce the amount of garbage we are bringing into the Backcountry, starting this year the Wildcat Trail Races will be completely Cupless on course. After seeing the thousands of little cups we went through last year, we feel strongly that this is the best decision for the environment. We will give you a high quality, 6oz handheld bottle (pictured below, hand strap is on the back) you can use during the race (and in the future!!), and individuals who already have hydration systems are encouraged to use them! We will still hav aid stations, with tons of water and nuun hydration... we just won't have paper cups. Course Description
The Wildcat Mountain 10K | 10M Trail Race has awesome views and fun, varying terrain. The course 100% dirt trails. Runners will have the potential to view wildlife along the way as well as a soak in the amazing mountain views.

Additional Course Details
- There will be aid stations available. In our effort to respect the trails and follow the principles of LEAVE NO TRACE, we have made this a CUPLESS race for 2017. We will provide you with a handheld water bottle. Bringing your own hydration system is also highly encouraged. Aid stations will be stocked with water and nuun hydration, as well as limited snack type foods.
- For the safety of participants and potential Backcountry Wilderness Area wildlife, dogs and strollers are not allowed.

You will be able to pick up your timing bib and race shirt beginning at 6:00 a.m. on race morning. Race day registration will also be available at 6:00 a.m. ($60 - 10K and $70 - 10 mile) cash or credit only.

- Race fees do not include additional online processing fees and are non-refundable and non-transferable
- In order to guarantee choice of shirt size please register two weeks prior to the event. Shirt quantities are limited and choice of sizes are not guaranteed to those who do not register early
