This event is a Walk, Run or Roll race in order to promote inclusiveness, diversity and awareness about intellectual and developmental disabilities. Envision is a non-profit that supports approximately 1,800 children, adults and their families annually with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities/delays residing in Weld County. Proceeds benefit Envision and the people we support.
RACE DAY SCHEDULE:

7:30 AM: Check-in opens.
8:15 AM: Check-in closes. No late entries will be accepted. No exceptions.
8:30 AM: 5K race starts.
8:35 AM: 1K race starts. (This race is not timed or eligible for awards. Only eligble for door prizes.)
9:30 AM: Awards and door prize drawings will begin. This time may vary slightly depending on the amount of people remaining on the course.
LOCATION: Race is located at Envision, 1050 37th St. Evans, Colorado 80620.
REGISTRATION: Children may register at the same price as an adult. Children will recieve the same shirt, race packet, and door prize entry as well as timing or awards, if participating in the 5K. Children that are in attendance but not racing (i.e. in a stroller) are no charge. Children that are in attendance must be supervised by their parent or designee at all time. RACE: This is a 5K Walk, Run, or Roll; however, 1K option is available for the same registration fee. Parking is in front and back of the building. It may be windy and/or cold as this is an outdoor event. Please be prepared with appropriate attire. Restrooms will be on-site. NO PETS, BIKES, SKATES, ROLLERBLADES, SKATEBOARDS.
TEAMS: At this time, team discounts are not offered. However, we encourage individuals, companies or organizations that wish to race together to feel free to develop a team.
SHIRT: Every participant will receive a free shirt as part of their registration. During registration, please verify that you choose your correct shirt size. Corrections need to be emailed to akarney@envisionco.org. If you do not pick up your shirt from Envision by Wednesday, May 31 2017, you agree to forfeit it.
RACE PACKET: Every participant will receive a race packet. This includes a variety of promotional items, notices, information and coupons from local vendors, sponsors and other community partners. If you do not pick-up your race packet from Envision by Wednesday, May 31, 2017, you agree to forfeit it.
PRE-RACE PACKET IS SCHEDULED FOR:

Friday, April 21, 2017 - 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM

AWARDS: Ceramic medals created by several artists that participate in Envision's Art Program will be awarded to the overall top 3 male and female finishers, the top 3 male and female finishers in each age group and a glass trophy will be awarded to the overall male and female winners. Awards will be given only to 5K Participants.
DOOR PRIZES: Every participant is eligible to win. Door prizes will be awarded at the end of the event. Prizes in the past included a variety of gift baskets all valued over $100 each, Ski Passes, Eagles tickets, Golf Packages, adventure packages, sports gear, gift cards, and more. These vary each year and we always strive to provide several great prizes! Your tab at the bottom of your bib number will be your entry to win door prizes.
COURSE: This is a Walk, Run or Roll event. The course selected is wheelchair accessible; however, if you have any specific accommodations needed, please contact us as soon as possible. Five Star Timing, LTD will provide chip timing. Course is certified by Bells Running.
DRINKS/FOOD: Water and snacks will be provided. Food will be offered; however, not all diet needs may be accommodated. If you have allergies, feel free to contact akarney@envisionco.org for a list of food options.
WEATHER/SAFETY: This is an outdoor event. It is suggested that you plan to wear layered clothing so that you may be comfortable in any sudden weather changes. Also, please wear appropriate footwear that covers heels and toes in order to prevent injury.
Envision’s 5K In My Shoes race is rain or shine unless we determine that race conditions are dangerous. This will be based on a careful decision made by race management and 5K Planning Committee in consultation with local safety officials. Every effort will be made to conduct the race; if the race is cancelled there will be no refunds. Each participant must accept any such risk for their entry fee paid including other amenities paid for such as t-shirts, race packet, insurance, and online administrative fees. In the event of inclement weather, Acts of God, or unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to alter, cancel or eliminate any/all portions of the race. The following procedure will be followed:
The race director in consultation with local safety officials will make the final decision to delay, adjust or cancel the race.
The decision will be posted on the website (http://www.envisionco.org/5KInMyShoes), Envision’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/EnvisionCoOrg), text to Envision's Rained Out subscriber list and communicated at the race venue via the PA announcing system.
In the case of an emergency please dial 911. All Envision personnel are Basic First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified. Defibrillators and basic first aid are on-site. Volunteers will be instructed to contact 911 in the case of an emergency.
CHECK-IN PROCESS: Check-in begins at 7:30am until 8:15am. Please be prepared to show identification for any credit card purchases the day of the race. Also, in order to ensure accuracy, we ask that you DO NOT check-in for someone else on race day.
BIB/TIMING: The 5K race is timed by Five Star Timing, LTD. It is important that you do not exchange bibs with anyone else. The event is chip timed; therefore, you must cross the finish line pad to calculate your time properly. Please do not leave the course prior to crossing the finish line. If you have an emergency, please inform a staff member so that we can stop your timing.
