No cars and trucks or pavement, just you and your footprints and the outdoors and maybe a few hundred of your closest competitors testing your trail speed in BCS’s very own trail race featuring event lengths of 5k, 10k, and 25k.
Pricing and Swag look like this:
5k – $30/35/40 – tech shirt, post race party
10k – $40/45/50 – tech shirt, medal, post race party
25k – $50/55/60 – tech shirt, bigger medal, post race party
This will be a 5k loop course. One loop for the 5k, two loops for the 10k, and if you're feeling loopy, five loops for the 25k. We’ll have an aid station at approximately 1.6 miles, and one near the finish line for those making more loops. The aid stations will be loud and fun, and have some amazing goodies for you. We’ll have grilled cheese sandwiches, fresh fruits, candy, GU, gatorade, and water. Because we want to honor the sustainable nature and environmental respect of the Millican Reserve we have the privilege of running through, our races will be cupless. So, bring your own bottles, backpack bladders, or hydration belts to use as you run!
GET READY FOR A PARTY AT THE FINISH LINE WITH A DESSERT BAR AND SEVERAL BEER CHOICES! Bring a chair and plan to stay awhile to cheer on the folks still running.
A word about the terrain: The course is over varied terrain on some of the prettiest property in South Brazos County. The race is 100% off the paved road; some of it wide and level dirt road, quite a bit of single track in the trees, and some shaded grassy trails. The property has a lake we’ll run around and is crisscrossed by numerous dry creek beds that are incorporated into the course. There will be tree roots and small rocks. It's definitely got some hills, but we wouldn't call it hilly. Just enough to keep you honest and use some different muscles.
This is a chip-timed race.
