Tri-the-Oval is now part of the Polar Vortex Challenge Series.
Along with two days of speed skating event the week before and after the Tri, thus creating a great series of winter activites based around the Emera Oval on the Halifax Commom.
Registration will be capped at 150 for all three events and at sixty for any one event. So if registration is high in the other events this one may have very limited openings. So register early to ensure your spot.

Event Details
Tri-the-Oval is back for 2017, but with a few changes.
This year we are part of the Polar Vortex Challenge series, in conjunction with the Nova Scota Masters Speed Skating Club, it includes two long track speed skating events.
This years Triathlon also make the change to Snowshoes in lue of the bike leg.
Leg 1 is the 5Km (12.5 lap) skate
Leg 2 will be on Snowshoes and is 2 laps of the North Common, approximately 3Km
Leg 3 is the run, 3 laps of the North Common, approximatly 4.5 Km.
Snow shoes are available for loan from HRM in the pavilion at the Oval, if you don't have your own.
Skate practices will be at times posted for Speed Skating on the SkateHRM website.
Registration for each event is very limited so sign up early.
In celebration of Canada's 150th anniversary of Confederation, we are limiting entry to a Maximum of 150 entrant for all events, with no more than 60 at any start line, this would include relay teams for this Tri.
