The Marathon and Half Marathon are USATF-certified (USATF cert. no. AK14008FW), out and back courses. The events are run at sea level on the lightly traveled, two-lane Douglas Highway/North Douglas Highway in Juneau, Alaska. By virtue of its certification, the marathon can be used as a time qualifier for the Boston Marathon. The moderately hilly course has been compared in difficulty to the Boston Marathon. The scenic course offers views of mountains, glaciers, forests, and the ocean. The start/finish is near the picnic shelter at Sandy Beach, in Douglas. The Deci-marathon and half-marathon are also run along the same course.
Marathon and half-marathon entrants get a technical t-shirt; deci- runners get a cotton t-shirt. All finishers get a medal!

Packet Pickup Details
Again this year, there will be two packet pickup sessions.
The first one will be on Thursday, July 27, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Nugget Alaskan Outfitters in the Mendenhall Mall.
The second pickup will be held the following evening (Friday, July 28) in the Gallery at the Juneau Arts and Humanities Council (JAHC) building at the corner of Egan Drive and Whittier Street in downtown Juneau. The street address is 350 Whittier Street and we'll be open for business from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
You may register for your event at both packet pickups.
There will also be packet pickup on race day at the Savikko Park start-finish area.
