Goal
This year’s event aims to start a financial assistance program for Babies at Home. This is an outpatient milk program that allows us to provide pasteurized donor human milk at a lower cost to babies who have a medical need for this milk but don’t have access to it for any of the following reasons:
The cost of pasteurized donor human milk is covered by hospitals while babies are patients. Once they leave the hospital and still have a medical need for life-saving donor milk the hospital will not provide it. The family can purchase milk from us at $4 an ounce. Right now, this cost is not covered through many health insurance companies and we do not have a financial assistance program in place. This is where Miles for Milk can help.
Babies live because you give!
Registration is $30 and will include a Miles for Milk 2017 T-shirt and gift bag. There will be a raffle drawing, prizes, and kid's activities.
The Mothers’ Milk Bank of Florida is a non-profit organization founded in 2011 to collect, process, and distribute human donor milk by physician prescription using the guidelines from the Human Milk Banking Association of North America. We are a 501(C)(3) non-profit and donations are tax deductible.
