Thanks for participating in the 8th Annual Pink Pumpkin Run! We were honored and humbled by your dedication to our cause. Because of your amazing support, YOU have provided a potentially life-saving screening for local women in need through Marshall Medical Centers' Mammography Assistance Program, and for that we are truly thankful!
The event has come and gone and registration is closed, but the opportunity to donate will remain open until November 15!
Results for this event can be found here. Photos from the day can be found here.
The Foundation for Marshall Medical Centers is proud to present the 8th Annual Pink Pumpkin Run/Walk 80's EDITION to benefit mammography and cancer services at Marshall Medical Centers.
Rock on with us as we celebrate one of the most tubular eras of our time in our 8th year with an 80's Edition of our totally awesome event. All participants are encouraged to dress up in their favorite 80's wear - rock those side ponies, sweatbands, fanny packs and neon colors! Teams are encouraged to pump it up with 80's themed team names, shirts and costumes. Let's travel back in time and make some totally radical memories, dudes and dudettes!
As always, the event will feature a 5K, 10K, 1 Mile Fun Run, early registration and packet pick up, music, children's activities and the popular Pink Pancake Brunch. The race will take place on Saturday, October 28th, 2017 starting and ending at the Guntersville Civitan Park. You don't have to run, just participate for a good cause!

THANK YOU SPONSORS!
Why We Run
The proceeds from the Pink Pumpkin events will be donated to cancer care service programs at Marshall Medical Centers. The main beneficiary of the Pink Pumpkin proceeds will be the Mammography Assistance Program (MAP) at Marshall Medical Centers North and South. Through the funds provided from MAP, women who cannot afford a yearly mammogram are offered assistance. Often the concern over the loss of income because of the time away from work or the lack of transportation or gas money prevent women from having this potentially life-saving test performed on an annual basis. Through MAP we have the ability to overcome these obstacles for many women. We also run in honor and memory of loved ones who have fought the battle with cancer.
Course Descriptions
5K Course (USATF certified - AL11049JD): The 5K walk/run will begin at Guntersville's Civitan Park, travel northeast along Sunset Drive/LB Wallace Drive and return to the Civitan Park by way of newly renovated downtown Guntersville. The course is mostly flat with a couple of slight inclines and runs adjacent to beautiful Lake Guntersville. Aid stations will be located at the halfway point.
10K Course (USATF CERTIFIED - AL12066JD): The 10K course will start at the Guntersville Rec Center and travel northeast along Sunset Drive/LB Wallace Drive and return to the Civitan Park by way of Gunter and Blount Avenues. The 10K course runs through Downtown Guntersville, featuring the Whole Backstage Theater, the Guntersville Museum and the Guntersville Library. The 10K course is mostly flat with a few inclines. A water and aid station will be located at the Chamber of Commerce, Bancorp South and at the finish line. All 10K runners will need to pick up their bib numbers at the Civitan Park prior to the race.
The 1 Mile Fun Run will begin at the 5K start, run to LB Wallace Drive and back. It is not timed, but the first three male and female finishers will receive an award. Rehydration & snacks will be available before and after the races. Afterward, participants can enjoy the popular Pink Pancake Brunch - a crowd favorite! Medical support will also be available on site during the event.

Fundraising Information
Sign up as a fundraiser in the Pink Pumpkin Run 2017 Challenge!
Each year over 150 women are able to receive free mammogram screenings through the Mammography Assistance Program because of people like you. Likewise, local cancer patients are given the care they deserve at the Marshall Cancer Care Center to make it through a tough diagnosis. With your help, we can make a BIG difference in the lives of women and cancer patients in our community.
We'll provide you with tools to build your own webpage, send emails, set fundraising goals, collect donations and acknowledge your supporters. Collecting donations for this cause is fun and easy. Simply send an email to your family, friends and co-workers, post a link to your fundraising page via social media or host a mini-fundraiser with your team to make a difference. (Who doesn't love a good bake sale?)
ALL THE MONEY YOU RAISE WILL PROVIDE SUPPORT TO LOCAL CANCER PATIENTS! Get started today by creating your pledge page!
