The Gorilla Run, now in its 14th year, was established in 2004 to raise funds for Mountain Gorillas and other endangered species.
Over the last 13 years the race/relay has donated close to $100,000 dollars to wild animals threatened with extinction, with funds sent to the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International, the Bonobo Conservation Initiative, and many more.
We would like to continue supporting animal conservation which has been made possible by the fantastic donations from sponsors and of course continued support from the Calgary running community.
Please join us again to run from the Calgary Zoo and the Bow River Pathway System on Sunday October 1st at 8am, for the annual ‘Race For Conservation’! Registration includes a pair of Gorilla Run running gloves!
Run the Whole 10 Mile Distance Solo or take part as a team of up to 4 People.

- Each relay team must collect a timing chip on the morning of the race at the start-line
- Each Relay Team Must must wear a race bib while running
- Timing Chip Must be handed over to the next runner within the transition area before the next runner starts their leg
- Teams can consist of 2-4 members.
- Only one team memeber can complete one leg at any give time (only one team member running at a time)
- Teams can be changed on race day
- Team members are allowed to complete multiple legs
- All team members get swag
Parking:
*Please note that runners are responsible for their own parking fees.
*All runners must pay for parking at the pay station close to zoo entrance upon arrival.
