Atlas Tube Centre Tiathlon/Duathlon & McDonalds Kids Tri/Du

NEW Location and Events this year. Our events have moved out to a brand new facility called the Atlas Tube Centre in Lakeshore. Come out and participate in either the Sprint Duathlon, Super Sprint Tri/Du's, events. The site location and event date will be shared with the McDonalds Kid's for Hospice events.

Our kids triathlon and duathlons will have our usual age groups as we use in all our brand new Pure Flavor KIDS series of events. Please refer to application on site or go to tecumsehtriathlon.com or NEW in 2017

The adults will be swimming in the brand new pool at Atlas Tube Centre and once your done your event you will be out od the pool and outside the pool area in about 10 secs. The Super Sprint Triathlon is 200M so this does not have a limit as they take up much less time to complete their swim.

The location allows us to close the site and run course off so that you will not have any traffic on the run course and around you on site or until you head out on the bike. The bike course will be limited to vehicles as it is a Sunday morning event. Parts of the out and back bike course will be closed to all traffic, plus we will use loops for some of the bike courses.

As our main objective at the end of the year is to raise funds for our charity of choice please consider a donation, plus getting more people to donate to your efforts. We have pledge sheets that you can download or you can use raceroster to raise funds.

Wellness Support Groups & Programs

Funding

All funding activities goes to support our Kids Programs at the Hospice’s Wellness Centre, our annual Fitness for Hospice series of events helps to make this possible.

“Fun Time for Kids” Each month we will have a special activity for our children to come together for friendship and a whole lot of FUN.

“Hospice Summer Camp” A FREE four day - three night camping experience for children aged 5-15 held the 3rd week of August at Camp Cedarwin. The camp is for any child who has a parent or family member living with a life threatening illness. The focus of the camp is FUN, FUN, and FUN and is offered in partnership with Scouts Canada. Space is limited so register early.

Family Works Program (Kids/Guardians) A five session support group that will work with both children (ages 5 to 12) and parents/guardians/caregivers in two separate simultaneously run groups. Each group will focus on facilitating communication and support to assist families through their experience related to life-threatening illnesses.

Guitar for Teens A ten-week support group for teens that have a family member living with a life-threatening disease. Guitars are provided but space is limited.

Please note all funds raised through sponsorships and events goes to help fund our kids programs at The Hospice WELLNESS CENTRE throughout the year.
