*One Mile Swim:
Ages 10-13 MUST have a coach's signed verification of his/her ability to swim that distance in OPEN water.
Ages 13+ should have swim experience.
The course is one loop of a triangular course with lifeguards stationed along the loop.
Swimmers must expect to finish one mile in under 50 minutes
One Mile Swim will begin as soon as the 3 mile swimmers are clear of the course (approx 9:30am).
Entry Fee (tax deductible donation to WCP, includes one tshirt)= $50 until May 15*/$75 from May 16-June 18
*Ages 18 and under register for $50 at any time
*Same-Day registration at check-in will cost $80 for ALL ages
*3 Mile Swim:
EACH swimmer (no matter his/her resume) must provide his/her own escort in a kayak or on an SUP. We will NOT have access to a supply of kayaks this year.
These swimmers swim twice around a loop marked with large buoys.
Swimmers for this distance MUST have open water swim experience, and they will be accepted pending a review of qualifications (registration fee will be returned in that instance).
Swimmers must reasonably expect to finish this distance in <1:55
Entry Fee (tax deductible donation to WCP, incl. tshirts for swimmer+paddler)= $100 through May 15/$125 May 15-June 18
*Swimmers registered online will receive commemorative t-shirts. 3 Mile Swimmers will each receive a shirt for their escort person. Same-day registrants are welcome, but t-shirt supply at that time is not guaranteed.

WETSUITS/Temperature/Awards/Misc
*The temperature of the lake usually is above 70 degrees on this weekend.
*Swimmers may choose to wear wetsuits or be otherwise "assisted," but only non-wetsuit swimmers will be eligible for awards.
*Awards- due to both the short timeframe we have on the beach and the lack of manpower we have on the beach, awards given on the day will be limited to 1st-3rd place overall Male and Female in the OneMile and 3 Mile events.
*Results will be listed by agegroup and gender, and will be posted by NE Timing online and on-site at the conclusion of each swim.
Same-Day Registration
There will be no same-day registration for the 3 mile swim without prior communication with race director. There will be spots available for the OneMile event, but t shirts might be limited AND swimmers might not have the flexibility to choose a "wave," i.e. speed or age group with which to swim.
Timing System
New England Timing will be on site to help with finish line setup and precise timing. Swimmers will pick up a timing chip at check-in.
Weather Conditions
This event will be held Rain or Shine. We will make every effort to hold this event within the limited timeframe we are allotted by the facility/beach, but in case of a dangerous weather situation which makes this impossible, the event will be cancelled. We do not have a "rain date." If the event is cancelled, your entry fee will not be refunded - it will still be a tax-deductible donation to Wayland Community Pool.
