Soda Springs High School is hosting their FOURTH “Cardinal Color Rush” as a fundraising event for the Physical Education and Athletic Departments. The current goal is to improve the outside track surface. Last years run was a great success, but funds are still needed to improve our track. Thank you for your support!
In this non-timed event, participants run, walk, or stroll the three mile course, and come out covered in a multitude of color! Families are welcome and there will be a 3/4 mile kids course too!
Each paid registration will include a t-shirt (If registered by May 8th) and one packet of color. Sunglasses based on first come, first served.
Late fee of $5 for on site, day of registration. So sign up early! ($15 through May 12, $20 May 13) T-shirts only guaranteed if you register by Sunday, May 7.
Packet pick-up: The night before the run, we will have packet-pickup from 5:00-7:00 pm in the SSHS Cafeteria. We will resume packet pick-up on Saturday, May 13 in the morning at 8:00 am. This will be held at Soda Spring High School, near the doors closest to the football field.

We had such a great time last year! Bring your friends, family, and a crazy fun attitude to get your color on in 2017!
Gather up your friends! Sign the whole family up! How about those co-workers? Create a team and dress-up! Rally your circle of friends and come enjoy the party-like atmosphere.
Rain or Shine...Get ready to move!
This is not a timed event. You do not have to go the full distance. You may choose a shorter distance and may stop your "Rush" at any time. The only requirement is for you to come out and have a great time! Don't forget your smile and laughter.
Anyone can participate. We welcome walkers, joggers, crawlers, runners, little tykes, older tykes, anyone! If you want to push a stroller...go ahead, just make sure it is not your special, fancy stroller that you will freak out on when it gets color on it. We register participants at age 5, so don't even worry about registering those little tykes. If you would like to order a little tykes shirt, please contact Shawnae via email at shawnaesomsen@yahoo.com. They will be $7, a donation to the cause.
You may also make a donation if you cannot make it to the event but would like to contribute to SSHS P.E. & Athletlcs. Just click the donate button on the left. You are also welcome to make a donation through the Soda Springs Education Foundation. Please call Jonathon at the district office: 208-547-3371. Specify that it is for Cardinal Color Rush. Donations from Monsanto employees made to the foundation can be matched by Monsanto.
We are working on gathering sponsors, volunteers, and donations for the evnt. If you or your business would like to participate in any of these, please contact Shawnae Somsen at 208-547-4308.
FAQs
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
1. What do I wear? Wear old white clothes, like an old t-shirt. The color may stain, it is formulated not to stain, however if it gets wet, it may stain. Sunglasses are a good idea too.
2. Should I wear my CCR t-shirt to the event? That is your choice. If you want to keep it looking new and snazy...don't wear it. If you want it for this event and possibly be colorful...wear it!
3. How do I keep the color on my clothes? They recommend spraying it with vinegar, and letting it sit. Then washing in HOT water.
4. How do I get rid of the color? First off, shake off any color that you can. You can use the blowing stations at the event also. When it comes time to wash, use COLD water to rinse first. Do this with your clothing as soon as possible. A magic eraser works wonders on items or skin. Bring a towell to set down in your car, or a spare change of clothes. Many people wear their colors with pride all day!
5. What about my hair? If you want to protect your hair, wear a bandana, hat, or other item. It is also recommended to put some leave-in conditioner in your hair before the event. This helps the color not be absorbed. Then, just keep rinsing...it will eventually come out.
6. Can I bring a stroller? Absolutely...just not your finest. It will get color on it. Also make sure to protect your little ones eyes with sunglasses. These little guys have a ball!
7. What do I do with my color packet? At the end of the "Rush", as you cross the finish line, each participant will be given a color packet. Save these for the finish party color clouds.
8. What is a "Color Cloud"? Every 15 minutes we will have a group countdown at the finish party. You will take a handfull of your color and throw it in the air! It is quite an epic moment. Multiple colors are going everywhere! A photo moment for sure. We continue our color clouds throughout our finish party, so don't worry about being first or last...we won't let you miss out!
9. How do I take pictures? Some people want their own pictures on thier own camera. Just be aware, color is everywhere. If you choose to bring yours, protect it. Some people put it in a baggy, others use disposable, and some just buy the pictures the event offers. Paul Gritton will be taking pictures throughout the event. There will be a photo opportunity along the backstop of the baseball field...so gather your team and some color!
10. What about Kids? They are welcome. They have a blast! You will see the biggest smiles on their faces!
