This Spring, Roland Koper, was involved in a serious motorcycle accident in which he acquired a Traumatic Brain Injury. He is currently in his third month of recovery where he continues to battle through the challenges that come with a TBI. A TBI is not kind and involves a very slow recovery process. This process is very detrimental for the patient as their brain goes through stages of recovery. It is also a very trying time for our family as we move through the day-to-day challenges of his recovery. Roland has and continues to demonstrate superhero abilities as he pushes himself towards a full recovery. My family and I will be participating in the BIST (Brain Injury Society of Toronto) walk where we will be raising money towards programs that support patients and their families. My family and I were amazed at the support and expertise of the professionals involved in Roland's care. It is so important to support the continued research and care associated with brain injury
