Start your Labor Day morning with a

Flat & Fast 5K race/run/walk.

We'll be starting at 9:00 am at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church. This is a flat certified course. We'll have chip timing, custom awards (hand made in Honduras) for the overall M/F, master's overall M/F, and the top 3 in all the usual 5 year age groups (10 & Under - 75+). For those younger folks that don't want to do the 5K and are 5 years & younger, we have a Tot Trot.

Virtual Race Option

Can't make it out to the event site on race day?

Still want to participate and have a shot at an award?

or maybe you saw the shirt and said: "Sweet...I want one!"


Then the virtual race is for you.

Here's how it works:

1. Register for the Virtual division & Start Training
2. The week of the event you'll receive your bib via email
3. The day before the race you'll receive instructions & a link to submit your race time
4. Submit your race time by end of race day
5. The day after the race results (Virtual Runner division) will be posted online
6. Monday after the race you'll receive an email with a link to the results & any pictures.
7. Monday after the race we'll package up all the T-shirts, medals, and Keepsake Bibs; and put them in the mail.

Raise Money & Race for Free...Fundraising 5K

We've put together a way for you to race for free, and help Predisan Health ministries even more! Register for the Fundraising 5K, which has a $0.00 entry fee. Then just raise a minimum of $200, and your entry fee is covered.


We'll give you all the tools you need to make it work. When you arrive on race day, you check in like normal, and if you've met your minimum, then you're all set. If you're under $200, then you'll either take care of the difference, or pay the $25 entry fee.

Event Day Festivities

The Holy Smokes race is just the beginning of a spectacular day. There will be a BBQ & Music Festival (over 10,000 attended this last year)

All participants registered by 8/27 are guaranteed a great race shirt. Women's cuts are also available!


Awards as follows:

  • Overall M & F
  • Overall Masters (40+)
  • Overall Grand Masters M & F
  • Overall Sr. Masters M & F
  • Top 3 in each age group (10 & under - 75+)

Groups & Teams

Grab your buddies, co-workers, or random strangers and challenge them to see who's the fastest. If you have at least 10 people, we're going to give a special award (and a prize) to the fastest team. You'll also be able to save yourself a few dollars on registration.

The largest group will also receive a custom prize!


There's two ways to make it happen.


1. Register everyone at the same time...then the discount is automatic.

2. Send us an email (lowell@fivestarntp.com) and we'll get you a coupon code for your team.

Championship & Turkey Trot

  • All participants will automatically qualify for FREE entry into the Five Star Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot or the Early Bird Turkey Trot.


  • Top finishers will also have the opportunity to earn a spot in the championships to be held on Dec 10, 2017. The number of spots available is based on the total registration...see event website for details.
