As you know we had to cancel the Algonquin Founders Day Race that was scheduled for Sunday, July 30 due to the devastating flooding in the Algonquin area. We are pleased to inform you that we have now rescheduled this race to take place on Sunday, September 10, 2017.
Enjoy the course on paved streets and along the beautiful McHenry County Prairie Path. Events include a 10K (6.2 miles) Run, a 5K (3.1 miles) Run/Walk and a 1-mile Kids Fun Run. Proceeds benefit Algonquin Founders' Days & Algonquin Flood Relief.

ABOUT THIS EVENT
The Algonquin Founders' Days River Relief Benefit Run/Walk is entirely on paved streets and a paved bike/running path. Enjoy the beautiful view along the McHenry County Prairie Path. Events include a certified course 10K (6.2 miles) Run, certified course 5K (3.1 miles) Run & Walk and a 1-mile Kids Fun Run. Proceeds benefit Algonquin Founders' Days and Algonquin Flood Relief. For the safety of others, no strollers, baby joggers, pets, roller blades/skates, skateboards, or bicycles are allowed on the course during the race.

AWARDS, Goodie Bag
10K and 5K Race Awards are three-deep in age groups beginning with ages 9 & under, 10-14, etc through 60+. All 1-Mile Kids Fun Run participants will receive finisher ribbons and will have an opportunity to win a 1st, 2nd or 3rd place ribbon. Awards will be presented at the race site once all participants have completed the course. Results will be posted at racetime.info within 2 hours of race. The first 200 registrants will receive a *Run T-Shirt & Goodie Bag (Adults and/or Children). The goodie bag is a red Algonquin Founders' Days draw string sports bag to include items from generous sponsors within the Algonquin community. All participants will receive post race refreshments.

PACKET PICKUP
All participants should pick up their packets (race bib, etc.) on race day at the Algonquin Middle School from 7:00am to 7:45am. Go to the event location behind the school.
SAME DAY RACE REGISTRATION
Same day of race registration is available at the event. Save $2 to register online for 5K & 10K. Save $3 to register online for kids fun run. Go to the event location behind the Algonquin Middle School from 7:00am to 7:45am to register.
FREE RAFFLE
All 5K & 10K participants are eligible to win a his or hers watch thanks to the generosity of Algonquin's Keehn's Jewelry.
ADDED INCENTIVE
All paid participants of this event may enjoy a FREE PANCAKE BREAKFAST compliments of Boy Scout Troop 151. The breakfast takes place at the festival at Riverfront Park, 201 N. Harrison Street, Algonquin. Runners/Walkers just show your race bib for your FREE meal! Special THANKS to Boy Scout Troop 151 for their generosity!

PRE-RACE
Special thanks to Algonquin's own, Maggie Schneider for sharing her talent with our community. Maggie is a 7th grade student at Saint Margaret Mary school and she will be singing the National Anthem prior to race start. Be sure to join us for this special opener!

REFUNDS
There is no refund for newly registered runners to the September 10, 2017 run/walk event.
Special Note for the pre-paid registered runners for the original July 30, 2017 event: If you are able to participate on the newly scheduled race date of September 10, 2017 then you need to do nothing further. If you are unable to attend the new date, please contact Algonquin Founders' Days for a refund OR we will consider your paid registration as a donation toward Founders' Days and the Algonquin Flood Relief. We thank you for your patience and flexibility while we get through this difficult time in our city. We will be back stronger than ever and look forward to seeing you on our newly scheduled race morning of: Sunday, September 10, 2017.
