Doggie Dash

Welcome to Creston Animal Rescue Effort’s Doggie Dash!

The fun run/walk begins with packet pickup between 8:00 and 8:45 a.m. at Shelter House #5, across from McKinley Lake on Lake Shore Drive. Participants can park in the swimming pool parking lot. The roads leading onto Lakeshore Drive (Adams, S. Stone and Spillway) will be blocked off to through traffic but volunteers will move the barricades and participants will be allowed through.

The fun run/walk begins at 9:00 a.m. The starting line is just past the shelter house but before the pool parking lot. Participants run at their own pace around the lake. At the end of the first lap everyone will be handed a CARE bracelet as they pass by volunteers on the sidelines. Prizes will be awarded to the first three participants to complete the second lap. Each lap around the lake is 1.3 miles.

After the fun run/walk, there will be tables set up in the shelter house with free bottled water, fruit and cookies.

Please be sure to have your dog on a leash at all times and be sure they have a current rabies vaccination. Bowls of water will be placed near the shelter house for dogs to drink. 2 Dog Poo bags will be provided in your packet so please respect the City Ordinance 55:10 that states “It is the duty of every person owning or having custody or control of an animal to clean up, remove and dispose of the feces deposited by such animal upon public property, park property, public right-of-way or the property of another person”.

Please remember, this fundraiser is just for fun. CARE volunteers wanted to encourage people to spend time with their canine companion while raising money for a local animal rescue organization. The money raised will benefit the homeless animals at the Creston City Pound. We thank you for participating and hope you enjoy the event!
