The Frisky Goat Running Company, working with the newly revitalized Port Jervis Recreation Committee, is putting on a summer trail running/walking series utilizing the fantastic Port Jervis Watershed trails.
The races will be timed by Second Wind Timing. There will be 3 trail races, utilizing at least two, possibly three different trails within the watershed. The courses will vary from (very little) pavement to flat, groomed double-track to gnarly 'rock garden' single-track...it will be quite the challenge for anyone to continuously RUN the entire course, which evens the playing field, making the event fun for walkers as well as runners. The final race in August will be followed by a post-race hotdog cookout.
We will forego goody bags but there will be one nice giveaway to all runners, finisher medals (at the final race), age group and overall awards as well as refreshments at the final race and bug repellent at every race. Proceeds from the race series will be donated back to the Port Jervis Recreation Committee.
**Race #1: (coming from Matamoras) on Pike Street in Port Jervis, go through 2 traffic lights, Pike Street turns into Orange Street. Take a left off of Orange Street onto Reservoir Road. DO NOT go through the gate on the right, instead bear left onto the dirt road and park. Additional parking on Reservoir Road. We will be trying to keep the registration area and start line free of cars so, if possible, please park no closer than just after Reservoir Road turns to a dirt road. Volunteers will be available to help.

(coming from Route 42) follow Route 42 onto West Main Street. Make a left at the light onto Orange Street. Take a left off of Orange Street onto Reservoir Road. Do NOT go through the gate on the right, instead bear left onto the dirt road and park.
