The Frisky Goat Running Company, working with the newly revitalized Port Jervis Recreation Committee, is putting on a summer trail running/walking series utilizing the fantastic Port Jervis Watershed trails.
The races will be timed by Second Wind Timing. There will be 3 trail races, utilizing at least two, possibly three different trails within the watershed. The courses will vary from (very little) pavement to flat, groomed double-track to gnarly 'rock garden' single-track...it will be quite the challenge for anyone to continuously RUN the entire course, which evens the playing field, making the event fun for walkers as well as runners. The final race in August will be followed by a post-race hotdog cookout.
We will forego goody bags but there will be one nice giveaway to all runners, finisher medals (at the final race), age group and overall awards as well as refreshments at the final race and bug repellent at every race. Proceeds from the race series will be donated back to the Port Jervis Recreation Committee.

Directions/Parking
All Three races will take place at different locations, on different courses. For Race #2:
(coming from Matamoras) on Pike Street in Port Jervis, at 2nd traffic light, turn left onto West Main Street/Route 42. At Sparrowbush, take a right onto Main Street. Take a right off Main Street onto Academy Avenue. Follow Academy Ave to the top (you'll see the reservoir, road turns to dirt/gravel) Parking on road.
(coming from New Jersey or Route 209 New York) follow East Main Street in Port Jervis, go through traffic light where the East Main turns into West Main Street. Follow West Main Street to where it becomes Route 42, stay on 42. At Sparrowbush, take a right onto Main Street. Take a right off Main Street onto Academy Avenue. Parking will be on/off Academy Avenue. We will be trying to keep the registration area and start line free of cars so, if possible, please park no closer than just before the registration area after Academy Avenue turns to a dirt road. Volunteers will be available to help.
