Run For The Blue Dallas 2017
Supporting Fallen and Wounded Officers and Their Families
On July 7, 2016, five police officers were killed and eight police officers were injured in the line of duty in an ambush on the Dallas Police Department, Dallas Area Rapid Transit Police, and El Centro College Police. Run For The Blue was founded in response to this attack to support fallen and injured officers and their families.
In observance of the one year anniversary of the ambush, Run For The Blue Dallas 2017 will be held on July 8, 2017. In addition to a 5K and 1 Mile run / walk, ceremonies honoring fallen and injured officers will be held.
Walkers and runners are welcome. The course will remain open for one hour.
Race entry is free. You will have the opportunity to make a donation during registration. Proceeds will go to the families of slain and injured police officers.
You will also have the option to add chip timing for $5 and a t-shirt for $20.
Proceeds will be distributed through the Blue Guardian Fund.
We encourage cities around the country to create their own Run For The Blue event to support local fallen and injured officers. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
We'll have a marked turnaround for 1 mile but you are welcome to walk or run as much or little as you want!
Can't make it to the event? Walk, run, or just show your support by signing up as a Virtual Participant!
