The first annual S'more Adventure Race will be held on September 30th, 2017 at Camp Shady Brook, near Deckers, CO! Each team of 4 will race in a variety of endurance disciplines, including orienteering/navigation, cross-country running/hiking, mountain biking, paddling and other challenges! Runners can look forward to a large vendor area with interactive booths and a food truck fest. Be prepared for an amazing day!
Teams: Each team will consist of four athletes. Team categories: male, female, and coed.
Limited Space: Space is limited to the first 50 teams so register now!
Awards: Awards will be given to the top three teams in each division.

Lodging: Come stay at Camp Shady Brook the night before for $50 per person. Includes dinner and breakfast.

Gear List
Supplied Gear: Canoes, paddles, PFDs, race maps, race passport, and rules of travel. First aid kits will be available at the check in points as well as the first aid tent in the vendor village.
Mandatory Gear: Bring other equipment as appropriate to get through the event. During the race each racer must have the following equipment:
- Pack to carry gear
- Enough food for replenishment
- Hydration pack, water bottle, etc.
- Closed-toe shoes must be worn during the entire race
While biking each racer additionally must have:
- Mountain bike
- Helmet (CPSC, ANSI, or SNELL certified)
Per team:
- Race maps (Provided)
- Rules of Travel (Provided)
- General Race Rules (Provided)
- Compass (Provided)
- Rapelling Gear (Provided)
- Bike tool kit (including a bike pump) and at least one spare bike tube
On sections of the course there will be points where you can drop your bike outside of a transition area. You may want to bring a lock to secure your bike in these situations. A bike lock is not mandatory.

On Site Registration:
We will have on site registration, September 30th at Camp Shady Brook beginning at 6:30am.
Race Day Info:
Start Times: 8:00am with waves following every 10 minutes.
Where: Camp Shady Brook
Parking: Parking attendants will be onsite to guide you. Please carpool.
Race Details:
- Hike: <6 miles
- Bike: <4 miles
- Canoe: <.5 miles
- Challenges: Archery, rock wall climbing, rappelling, and many more!
* Teams must stick together and everyone completes all checkpoints.
Awards: Presented immediately following the race to the top teams in each division.
Directions to Camp Shady Brook
From Colorado Springs:
(Approximately 70 minutes) Take highway 24 west to Woodland Park, at Woodland Park, take a right on Highway 67 North towards Deckers. Stay on Highway 67 for approximately 23 miles, at Deckers, take a hard left onto Y Camp Road (dirt road). The road dead-ends at the camp parking lot.
From Denver:
(Approximately 90 minutes) Take Highway 285 West to Route 126 at Pine Junction, Turn south (left) onto Highway 126/S. Pine Valley Road towards Deckers. Stay on Highway 126 for approximately 25 miles, in Deckers, take a hard right onto Y Camp Road (dirt road). The road dead-ends at the camp parking lot.
USARA Sanctioned Event
The S'more Adventure Race is a sanctioned United States Adventure Racing Association (USARA) event. Your registration includes a one day membership to USARA and an additional USARA waiver will need to be signed at packet pickup or on race day.
