Grab your costumes & kids, or leave all that at home. Come out for the best Halloween themed event of the season and be fast, have a great time, or do both. We'll have plenty of Halloween goodies, and plenty of music and fun atmosphere at the start and finish line.
Both the 5K & 13K start at 8:30 am at Rock Creek Park in Dawsonville Ga. Chip timing & awesome long sleeve cotton shirts to all participants & awards in both races to the top 3 overall M/F winners, the top 3 M/F masters winners, overall M/F grand master, overall M/F sr. master, and the top 3 in all the regular 5 year age groups.

Event Beneficiary
We're working with a few different organizations during the event. The primary beneficiary is the MS Center of Atlanta whose mission is to improve the health and hope of MS patients through advocacy, education, state of the art treatment and research leading to a more promising future.
Choose your team
You get to choose which team to run for when you register...Human or the Undead. It doesn't matter for your personal time or the awards you can win, but we're going to take the teams average time and come up with a winning team will get special prizes at the end.
Entry Fee & Registration
Registration is $30 for the 5K & the 13K.
All participants registered by 10/15 are guaranteed a long sleeve zip up. Registrations afterwards will receive a shirt while supplies last.
Race day registrations are also welcome for an additional $5.
Children 10 years & Under save $10 off the registration fee.
Virtual Race
Can't make it out to the event site on race day?
Still want to participate and have a shot at an award?
Or Maybe your just in love with the shirt or the cause?
Then the virtual race is for you.
Here's how it works.
- Register for the Virtual division
- Start Training
- The week of the event you'll recieve your bib via email or USPS.
- The day before the race you'll recieve instructions & a link to submit your race time
- Sumbit your race time by end of race day
- The day after the race results (Virtual Runner division) will be posted online
- Monday after the race you'll recieve an email with a link to the results & any pictures.
- Monday after the race we'll package up all the T-shirts & medals and put them in the mail.
Timing, Awards, & Shirts
Both races will be chip timed, and awards will be given out as follows:
- Top 3 overall M/F
- Top 3 overall Masters M/F
- Overall Grand Masters M/F
- Overall Sr. Masters M/F
- Top 3 in each 5 year age group starting at 10 & under and going through 75+. Awards for the 5K will start at approximately 9:30 am, and 10:30 am for the 13K.
SHIRTS...
We've got a great long sleeve 3/4 zip up shirt for everyone. It's only guaranteed and in your size if you register by Oct. 15
Finisher Awards
All 13K participants will recieve a Running Scared Finisher Award.
Special awards
Planning on dressing up? We'll have a prize for the best dressed, so grab all your fancy duds, and put them on. We'll also have special take homes for all the members of the winning team (Human or Undead).

One of which is the Team Check In Box
When you join a team you'll have the option to have your bib, shirt, and any other goodies put into a team box. The first member just picks up the box, and hands everything out to all the participants. No lines! It's quick & easy.
Aid Stations
We'll have plenty of water & aid on the course for everyone, with a stop approximately every 1.5 - 2 miles
Five Star Championships & Turkey Trot
- All participants will automatically qualify for FREE entry into the Five Star Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot.
- Top finishers will also have the opportunity to earn a spot in the championships to be held in Dec 10, 2017. The number of spots available is based on the total registration...see event website for details.
Event Courtesy Policy
Our events are designed to be fun and for the entire family. With that in mind any competitor, spectator, parent, volunteer, or sponsor, exhibiting unsportsmanlike conduct or interfering with the positive, competitive atmosphere of the event will be asked to leave the venue and course immediately with no refunds.
